2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
JeremyCuddles replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
The Worlds is one of the reasons why we considered Eriksson in the first place, doubt another team replicates our mistake. Lol. But who knows? Could always hope. -
Rumor has it they aren't in any rush to move Seabrook. And with all their young guys they'd probably wanna keep him as their Edler, albeit an overpaid Edler.

2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
JeremyCuddles replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
There’s absolutely 0 chance NYR would pass on Hughes. American, Consensus number 1 pretty much all year. American. Did I mention American? -
Play crappo for Kakko I say.

I mean, it was a close series and any edge one way or the other is significant. Did he deserve 2-3 games? Yes. But the entire rest of the series is BS. Our blueline was beat up enough without tossing another player on a bogus suspension for that long. Oh well, water under the bridge as far as I am concerned.

[Article]- Hometown biased at its finest
JeremyCuddles replied to RetroCanuck's topic in Canucks Talk
If people that are paid to write articles are absolved of stupidity cause a select group of grown men with too much time on their hands make up dumb proposals on a forum site than our media expectations are way too low. -
2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
JeremyCuddles replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Close enough, Button talks about him as a center. I been sayin' I think Hughes probably moves to the wing in the NHL. Especially since Bobby Mac said that in December. Who knows though? I thought Petey would be a winger in the NHL too. -
I almost deleted my comment cause I thought I got lost in the Juolevi thread.

[Report] Benn Wants out of Dallas
JeremyCuddles replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
It's a big salary for a long time but I am confident he'll be a good/great player for the majority of the remainder of his contract. Would help if they retained 750k-1mil but I don't know about that. We really are banking on a Kesler situation to try get him cheapish but even that wouldn't really help. Dallas could just say "well you are signed forever, so you either give us a real list or you're staying". Kesler was a year or two from UFA status so we had less leverage to ask for a bigger list or risk losing him for nothing. He would help our LW problem. Which is only a problem if Baer continues to have injury troubles and/or if Pearson goes back to being poopy like most of last year. Looking and Benn he doesn't hit a ton, doesn't block a ton, and hasn't really missed any significant time. I think he'll age pretty well considering. Question is will his skating hold up for the next 5-6 years. Legs are usually the first thing to go when players age. His game aging doesn't worry me nearly as much as his cap hit. 9.5 is a huge cap hit and I reckon guys like Petey and Hughes will eat a large chunk of our cap. Who knows what Boeser is getting this summer. Cap goes quick. -
There should be 0 rush to get Woo in the NHL. Guy is a teenager still. Drafted outta the 2nd round. Putting him on our blueline as it stands now would only serve to hurt more than help. Besides we don't want another Virtanen situation where we bring him up, then send him to the A next year. Let him stew, continue to build the blueline, and when he's ready it won't be a "please save our blueline" situation he's walking in to. He had a great year, let him continue to build on that.

[Proposal] Vancouver - Toronto
JeremyCuddles replied to KKnight's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
You sound so cool and alpha. -
Go back and read the conversation again. He said that we shouldn't worry about Jake because Wheeler didn't play in the NHL until he was 22. And my point was that Wheeler only took that long because he played in College to avoid Phoenix. He very likely would have played a year or two sooner. The Wheeler example also falls short cause his rookie year (when he was 22) he scored 45 points. Jake has 59 points in his career, let alone just comparing their 22 year old seasons where Jake only scored 25 points.

2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
JeremyCuddles replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
If this is true I'd definitely have Kakko as my number 1. I think on name brand alone Hughes will still go numero uno but Rangers are being gifted a great player in Kakko. -
August is the expected time for him to start seriously working out again if I recall correctly.

Been talking about Kakko as potential first overall for a while. Too much talent with size. New Jersey probably takes Hughes cause he’s a center though. -
[Proposal] Horvat to Colorado
JeremyCuddles replied to Schmautzie's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Colorado gets roasted here value wise. I'd easily give up Bo for that package. Lol. -
He wasn't a college player, and he was not ready for the NHL when he was played there his rookie season. Lol. As evidenced by the fact he was sent down to the AHL the season after his rookie year.
-
He was a college player though, right? If so it's a bit different, I am sure Wheeler was good enough to play in the NHL before that.

2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
JeremyCuddles replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
Well the discussion wasn't about having one pick. If you actually read the conversation in it's entirety. I know that's a lot to ask but do try. -
2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
JeremyCuddles replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
3 of those guys are righties, and only one of them has an outside chance at being top 4. Hughes and Juolevi are the only ones with legit chances at being top 4. Tryamkin isn't even with the team and may not ever be with the team so if we are opting out of making defense a legit area of strength on the hope he comes back that seems like bad asset management. If you guys think defense is not a significant weakness on this team cause we drafted two d-men last year that's fair I guess. -
2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
JeremyCuddles replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
I never said double down on d-men, I said if we have two top 10 picks we can draft a winger and a D-man, kill two birds with one stone. Lol. If you think our defense is fine going forward as it is then I guess we really are looking to build a Toronto Maple Leafs. -
We seem to have gotten some Juolevi in our Jett Woo talk.

2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver, BC
JeremyCuddles replied to Qwags's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
I mean, not necessarily. But I guess it depends on how you value each prospect. If "BPA" is just pure offensive upside or who ever is scoring more points, sure. If you wanna create a Toronto Maple Leafs or Edmonton Oilers by all means draft all forwards with your first round picks. I can't wait to hear how we'll find 4 Duncan Keiths in the 2nd round.
