  1. It's laughable that people think Dobson is a possibility. For Horvat no less. Lol. They ask for Petey at a minimum. Not a 27 year old, UFA at season's end.
  2. You don't have to convince us. Most of us are ready to pack his bags for him.
  3. It's funny how this is all playing out. Admittedly I didn't do much due dilligence either, I was prepared to give him a second chance. Because I assumed they did their actual jobs and looked into it. Random Canucks fans in this thread easily dug up all the info on this kid. You telling me a billion dollar franchise can't do a simple google search about this kid but the random chaps on CDC can? Lol. Either you're stupid or you're lying about the situation and were hoping nobody would notice. Either way you're scumbags for even trying this.
  4. Playing like he wants out of town. Until the shootout, then he commandeered the tank. He wants his trade value up, but knows we need to lose for Bedard. If that's not real leadership I dunno what is.
  5. Ngl, that Stillman/Myers pair may be the worst defensive pair I have ever seen on the Canucks. Yeah my Canucks fandom only started in the early 2000s, which also means I wasn't big on the nuances until roughly 2010. I assume y'all seen worse. But I honestly can't recall a time I been more annoyed by a D pair in the last 20 years of watching this team. Myers is fine overall. He's definitely at least 2.5mil overpaid. Him and Stillman are an abomination as a pair. How the F is Stillman even still in the lineup? I'd even take Hunt back instead of this goof. Hell, put Megna or Chaput on defense instead.
  6. Which is weird cause a lot of talk when we first hired Rutherford was that he was touted as a bit of a gunslinger. Management seems more like a bunch of snoozers.
  7. My favorite part of that video is the first clip and how the announcers are saying the official "snapped completely" while the players are yelling and swearing. Lol. All the official did was throw the glove on the ground behind the bench aggressively. This was a fun watch to say the least.
  8. A big reason I believed Miller had untapped potential before coming here was he wasn't being played much. Hell, the season before coming here Tampa was playing him 14 minutes a game. It was a big talking point for me why I didn't see a 3rd liner like many nay sayers said prior to him playing. Horvat though, has been given way more opportunities here than Miller ever seen in NY and Tampa. Likely not getting 1st unit PP time like Horvat is getting here. So to expect a Miller like bump for Horvat is a way beyond just being wishful. Given Miller's growth came from opportunities here he wasn't getting elsewhere. But at the same time, Horvat has had some really middling wingers in his career. There's always been that one winger on his line that is more of a 3rd liner than a 2nd liner. Also doesn't help that he sort of fills a defensive role. Which he isn't actually that good at. He's a great faceoff guy, and an okay defender. To maximize him you would need him being utilized offensively a bit more than defensively. But we don't have a shutdown 3rd line center. So that's been his role.
  9. Bergeron is a major reason why I don't hate Boston. Losing to them stinks, they had some dirty scummy players. But Bergeron is all class all the time.
  10. It's wild that this kid made zero effort to correct his wrong these passed few years. And here I was prepared to give him a second chance he does not deserve. The Bruins should be fined. This kid literally just waited a few years hoping the backlash would just pass. Instead of being a decent human being and reconciling. This is a very poor reflection of his parents too. Mine would never let me just get away with years and years of abusing someone. This is just shameful and stains the league if they don't do something significant. I like to believe we are better than the NBA and NFL in regards to upholding players to a higher standard.
  11. I completely forgot this came out. It does make it harder to believe his apology. Given he tried to downplay it by saying "I did something wrong in grade 8." But the optimist part of me really, really wants to believe he grew as a person. Cause the sad fact of the matter is, he got his second chance at the NHL whether he changed or not. So I don't want to learn down the line he's still a POS. This is definitely a very complicated issue. We don't want to hold him accountable for this mistake his whole life, but at the same time it's hard to know if he's changed for the better.
  12. As angry as his actions make me, I have to give him a chance to prove he has grown as an idividual. Age is no excuse, but at the same time you gotta give people a second chance. Otherwise how can any of us improve as people? I hope with all my heart he is a better person. But yeah, I gotta say it doesn't sit right with me. But maybe that is just evidence I need to improve as a person.
  13. Can we keep Breezer in the lineup instead of Stillman. Guy is a pylon. Also, can't spell Studnicka without stud. He looks really solid. Nice to see the team keep piling up goals even though they kept letting in goals. Ideally, you'd rather not let in goals. But they didn't fold like a cheap tent. So I am happy.
  14. Why not both? Give us Barzal and Pulock. Sounds fair to me
  15. Outside of Dobson, they have any good young RD we can get for Miller? Or maybe they'll give up Pulock?
  16. *Checks notes* Wait a darn minute, we traded two 5th round picks. MYRENBERG!!!!!! The more we change managements, the more they stay the same. Giving away 2nd round picks.
  17. It looked good at the time too. I was all over taking this deal. Assuming it was ever on the table. Being a fan of this team hurts.
  18. It's okay guys, we added a bunch of forwards. Build from the front as they say. Besides we got our coveted right handed blueliner in Stillman.
  19. Ahhh, that makes more sense. I just have a bad reading level I guess. Lol. But yeah, his shots a game mean nothing to me if it equates to no goals or even points for him. Nice that he's active, but eh. He's not dominating like the article makes him out to be.
  20. I am a massive Chatfield fan, I was and still am pissed that we let him go. But I mean, this is a very misleading read. Guy has 0 points and is a -2 on the season. I am not a huge +/- guy but it is what it is. I'd take him on our 3rd pair over pretty much every option we have. Hell, I'd take him to play with Hughes over Schenn every day of the week. But he's not really deserving of being in the same conversation as Makar. Shots on goal stats are kinda whatever. Especially if the "gets lots of power play time" comment is true. Cause that means he's getting spoon fed prime scoring opportunities and capitalizing on them a grand total of 0 times in 7 games. He's a good 5/6, but lets not get crazy and say he's "dominating." He's fulfilling his role very, very well. He'd be an instant improvement on Burroughs and Juulsen. And even Schenn like I said. But it is funny that Carolina and Chicago are lauded for taking something from Vancouver for nothing. In the case of Chicago we actually paid them to take a quality player while we got nothing back.
  21. The battle of Alberta is special. It's a shame we don't have something similar with Seattle. Maybe one day. But even as a Canucks fan you can't help but be excited about Calgary/Edmonton matchups. Bear doesn't shy away from the rough stuff. Gotta love it.
  22. 5th rounder, and they retained cap. Sounds good. Don't expect a savior but at least it was a middling pick. We got AHL depth and a reclamation product for dirt cheap. Time for the "but don't trade draft picks" folks to lose their marbles cause we just traded future Henrik Zetterberg away.
