[Waivers] Kieffer Bellows
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Does he though? Lol. If he did why would the Isles let him go? He isn't a physical presence. -
I said it at the beginning of Benning's reign and I'll say it now. Can we give these fellers some time to actually do something before we call for their jobs? We keep the same underwhelming core and replace everything around them time and time again expecting different results. I think it's fair to say the problem is our core. Coaches can't make you care, they can't make you work harder, and they can't help you overcome mental fragility. That's on these men to do, you're either built that way or you're not. Management needs some time to assess the assets we have and to figure out who is worth keeping and who can be moved. Deals also don't materialize out of nowhere like EA. I do hope we see movement like many of you though. But my hope may be a bit more extreme. Horvat, Miller, Petey, Boeser and Hughes. Two of these men need to be traded. Myers needs to be let go when his contract expires. That's the kind of ground shaking move that needs to be made. No going after assistant coaches, or management, or the assistant to the video guy, or even 3rd and 4th liners or 3rd pair/depth d-men. We have done all of that before. A lockerroom shaking move involving the core is what it's gonna take.

Should team look at signing a new assistant coach?
JeremyCuddles replied to *Buzzsaw*'s topic in Canucks Talk
Lets keep it going and bring in Lu as goalie coach, Kesler as another assistant. And Manny too. Oh, wait. -
[Waivers] Michal Kempny

Dang, was pretty good for the Caps once upon a time. Injuries really whooped his ass I guess. -
I didn't mind the trade. We been hurting for a 3c for a long time. Sutter developed boneitis the second he put on a Canuck jersey, Beagle was in over his head, Gaudette was just plain awful. Dickinson's play absolutely plumetted. Something about Vancouver kills 3rd line centers. Hell, fanbase has turned on Horvat now too. Lol.

That's true, his addition looks better if/when we drop Pearson and maybe Boeser/Garland. Or even Miller if management entertains the idea. It just sucks to see us sign a forward and run back a worse blueline than what we had last season. But we move some forward cap then we can actually add some quality blueliners. Hopefully.

I still disagree with the take. Got rid of deadcap, added a top 6 winger and a top 4 D-man who has arguably been our best d-man since he's been here. Sure Hughes scores more but is terrible defensively, he tries I'll give him that. Wanna cry about wasted cap, cry about Virtanen, Holtby and Halak, Ferland, Poolboy, Dermott and arguably even Mikheyev. Not players that actually contribute meaningfully to the team. Mikheyev isn't bad, but adding a forward made no sense at the time. And makes less sense as time goes on. We needed blueliners that actually play defense. OEL and Hughes gives us 2 drivers in the top 4. Problem is we need Tanev and Manson types to play with them. Not Myers and Schenn. So I strongly disagree with the trade being a loss. You don't blame contributing players for cap inflexibility. You blame the dead cap. Which we have a lot of and is thankfull going away soon.

[Signing] Canucks re-sign J.T. Miller
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I hate to be the I told you so guy. But I mentioned Miller's temperment numerous times before he re-signed and had people push back on it. He's not a leader and not a guy that'll dig you out of a tough spot. He's a great player, brings energy and tenacity. But if things aren't going right, he's liable to be a problem and not a solution. We literally seen it last year but for some reason people wanted to make him captain. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's actually a lockerroom issue. There was video of him and Schenn going at it. It also might not be a coincidence that Boeser has become a shell of himself since Miller got here. They have literally no chemistry and his game has regressed since Miller got here. We can still trade him before his NMC kicks in, but his value has plummeted these past 5-6 games. Who wants a guy at 7 years making 8mil that looks like this when the ship has holes in it? It's still early, since we do have him and we are locked in with him I want to believe he can turn this around. But I dunno man, he isn't that guy. I been saying it the last couple years. Thinking about that rumored Lundkvist deal has me so sad dude. Lol. I wanted that the moment my eyes read it on my screen. 1st and a RD. What more can you ask for, for a guy that crumbles in the face of adversity? -

JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Well my friends. Gotta say I am actually not more happy losing this way opposed to choking a lead. I'd rather at least see the offense succeed a little bit before mentally crumbling. Instead of just mentally crumbling the whole game. I think it's time to unleash the nature boy. No not Jett Woo. We should literally sign Ric Flair to a contract. I wanna be entertained at least once this season. -

He looked good with Petey pre-Miller. Post-Miller, not so much. -

Remember when people thought the Sedins were bad leaders? I never seen anything this bad with them at the helm. Looking at the last few years. We've had major roster turnover. With the exception of Hughes, Horvat, Petey, Boeser, Miller and Demko, and I suppose Myers. And we've added literally no dependable d-men outside of OEL. But when we got him we lost Stecher and Tanev. Anyone calling for Boudreau, is dumb. I am sorry. The issue comes from the foundation. Miller, Horvat, Petey, Boeser, or Hughes need to go, throw in Myers but damn. We are already starved for anyone that can play on the blueline without removing Myers. Moving Garland, or OEL or some other guy that hasn't been the problem won't help. Hell, I'd argue maybe even 2 or 3 of those 6 mainstay guys need to be moved. This core is looking rotten or stunted or something. I hate to pat myself on the back during a time where I am so sad to watch these games. But I been asking for us to draft d-men with our 1st and 2nd rounders going as far back as 2016. The fact we drafted THREE in that time, which is why we are icing 2 quality blueliners right now one of which we didn't even draft. Hell even if you include the 3rd round we drafted maybe 5 defenders in rounds 1-3 in 6 years. Our blueline is an embarassment. Our forwards are weak minded. Our goalie looks so dejected. And yet people think removing the coach will help. Lol. Y'all are lost. -
We are 0-4 since we fired this chick. Coincidence? I think not. The video guy must be struggling hard to plug in the prompter and point the ruler at the screen to illustrate what's going on. She was integral to our success. We are seeing her loss on the ice. This hurts more than the time we traded Linden, or the time we let Naslund walk instead of him retiring as a Canuck. It almost hurts as much as that time we waived Corrado and he was stolen from us by Toronto. That's peak pain for me.

Poll - Which meltdown has been more spectacular this month?
JeremyCuddles replied to Provost's topic in Canucks Talk
Yeah kinda ruined my mood. I just started LOTR cause I been oversaturated with brooding and negativity from years of House of the Dragon, Attack on Titan, Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead. LOTR was a nice touch of less edgy television. Now it's been soiled. Enter Spongebob meme.
