  1. Great deal if he maintains his play from last season. 39 points for a 3rd line center is really good. Something we haven't had in seemingly forever. For 3mil, that's a really good price. If he expands his defensive game, this becomes a massive steal. 3mil per season to play in Vegas, what's not to like?
  2. 3 year deal at 26, doubtful he's much more than what we've seen. Which isn't that much. Solid deal for both sides.
  3. What I said in the second paragraph isn't what his agent believes Miller can do. Is what I am saying. His agent believes last season is the norm for Miller. I don't. Re-read the first paragraph.
  4. I don't view Miller's agent's comments as a threat. It shows belief in his player that he'll maintain last year's play as well as just saying what we all know. The closer a UFA gets to free agency the more leverage he has as well as more appeal to hear more offers. The longer it takes to get an extension done the less likely it will get done. He also has less loyalties here than Hughes, Demko and Boeser have. We are his 3rd team. Which means he's more likely to try cash out. That's on top of the fact he likely way overplayed his average. He is more likely to never hit 90+ points again imo, especially going into his 30s. Which means this is likely his best and last chance to cash out. 75 point Miller is still good, but not 10mil good.
  5. People celebrating this like it doesn't give Miller a case for 10mil himself. He has a better all around game and just recently put up 99 points.
  6. Pretty sure the team will be rebuilding by then anyway. This is just to keep the window open 3-4 more years. After that it'll be the next GM's problem.
  7. Y'all really still thinking about Benning? It's equally pathetic as it is hilarious.
  8. Dude, I completely forgot about Dakota Joshua. Nevermind, we chillin'. Still happy to see Big Mac hangin' in the league.
  9. Good for 15-20 points on a full season, playing what seems to be a 4th line role. Still young and can develop. Pretty standard show me deal.
  10. I mean, most 4th liners are expendable. But it's still nice to have some bite at the bottom of the lineup. Something we desperately need. Thankfully we got Lazar though, so that need has been sort of handled. Not a prolific fighter by any means, but at least he has some grit. Still wish we had Big Mac as a 4th line/depth guy. But I won't pretend he'd change our fortunes or anything.
  11. Helluva lot more than what you and I make I bet. Also, how many people are in the NHL again? I imagine a pretty small percent of the population. I love how people try clown NHLers as if you're doing anything special in life. Lol.
  12. Tkachuk and Johnny Hockey gone he may get PP time so he may maintain 25ish goals. I see this being ugly, but at least it's only 3 years.
  13. They say size doesn't matter, but we know that's not true.
  14. We been a cap team the entire time we been in our rebuild. Lol.
  15. From having been engaged in trade discussions to having no trade discussions with the quickness.
  16. We torch our young top 6ers. But our bottom 6 and our defense brought absolutely nothing to the table last season. Hughes and OEL carried our blueline, and Motter and Pod carried our bottom 6. But other than that it was tough sledding outside our top 6. Boeser gets roasted, but he at least scored 20 goals. I don't care how they went in, haters can complain it was half on the PP all they want. He scored goals and the puck possession was on our side when he was on the ice. If we don't get improved play from our depth players and our blueline it doesn't matter how good Petey and Boeser are in combination with Miller and Demko. Mikheyev and Kuzmenko will put a jolt into Pod who had a good rookie season and hopefully the roster. Lazar gives our 4th line a legit two way center threat and will hopefully bolster our PK that was abysmal when we lost Beagle. Our blueline still makes me uneasy. But hopefully the two way additions upfront are enough for at least this season if nothing else gets done.
  17. Tbh, there are way too many rabbit holes cropping up if we swap that pick. I still think we end up with Petey cause Tkachuk didn't exactly immediately make a huge impact. But we could very well have ended up with Glass, Andersson or Mittelstadt. Or even maybe we end up where the Devils were who won the 2nd pick and we have Hischier. It's hurting my head thinking of the possibilities. Long story short, I am overthinking this.
  18. The point totals aren't worrying, cause that was 17 points in 43 games. The scary thing is the fact he is more fragile than Tanev was for us. Aston-Reese has played more than 60 games once, it was this passed season. With a 50 game season and has two 40 game seasons. League min is the most I'd do. Guy is made of glass and our team has a habit of injurying even the most iron of men. IE Sutter.
  19. I know the fanbase is pissed that Boeser isn't Ovechkin, but drafting him in the 20s is pretty wicked.
  20. Tramp said he was waiting for us. I didn't want him, but still.
  21. Mikheyev is left handed. We still need to clear cap, I don't see Pearson surviving the offseason. That frees a LW spot for Mikheyev.
  22. I never understood this as well. I like Garland, Boeser and Pod down that right side. I may be weird, but depth is kinda cool.
  23. I'd be hesitant to run a D pair where both guys are under 6' and neither are great defensively. Although, Lundkvist is listed at 5'11 which is usually the draft day listing. He could be 6 foot for all I know. I'd still rather see a true 2 way guy. Rather than an offensive minded guy we hope isn't a liability.
