  1. He worked his ass off and struggled with conditioning because of a bunch of injuries? Yeah, lets roast this guy while most of y'all waddle around with your beer guts and neckbeards.
  2. Dude, what did Juolevi do to deserve this fanbase's vitriol? Good grief. Y'all really are classy.
  3. According to my sources when the Canucks and another team reach an agreement that suits both sides a deal will be done.
  4. It is kinda weird that they call Boudreau by his real name and not "coach." Is that mostly a fan/media thing? Cause the NBA media call coaches, even ex coaches, coach. I said coach way too many times just now. But still. Just thought that was interesting to point out. Cool that Pod calls Boudreau coach. Lol. I loved this kid at the draft. I wrote him off as an option at our spot cause I loved his game so much I figured nobody would be stupid enough to pass on him beyond 5. He fell into our laps and I just love his game and his work ethic more and more. Very excited for his future.
  5. This is the sad reality and shows how powerful accusations are against men. He will carry the weight of this for the rest of his life. People will always look at him like he sexually assaulted someone. I am not gonna say he is innocent or guilty. I don't know enough. But he's not free from this in the slightest and the responses to the result speak to that. The court of public opinion made up their minds the day the accusations came to light. With that said, we just gotta hope for the best. Hope Virtanen either learns from this or can move on from it. And hope the young lady heals from this or you know, doesn't throw accusations like that around. Either way we just flat out don't know.
  6. The real perk to Canadian winters is when it's cold enough to see your breath you can pretend you're smoking. I mean, I don't do it. But I see the appeal.
  7. Yeah and Cheechoo scored 50+ goals once. You gotta be careful breaking the bank for guys that potentially way overplayed their normal status. He's a great middle 6 guy. But would you really pay him as a 30 goal guy? If he gets 6m they may regret that as early as next season. With that said, he was absolutely phenomenal last season. 25 goals even strength? That's insane production. With 15 and 17 even strength goals the two seasons prior respectively. Doing that kind of damage with roughly 13-15 minutes of ice time a game? He's a hard man to gauge value wise. Goal scoring he provides more than most with little time to work with. 2 shorthanded goals and a shorthanded assist last season. Sounds like he's sound on the PK. If nothing else at least a threat to score shorthanded. He should definitely be asking for at least 5m per. Given what Mikheyev got. Closer to 5.5m per. But I don't think he should be getting 6m per. If he drops back to his mid to high teens production you have a problem, and the odds of him scoring in the mid to high teens is way higher than him being a regular 30 goal guy. In my humble opinion.
  8. GMs get like no blame for lockouts. It's always the players fault. Lol. Also, it's not RFAs taking one year deals that are causing lockouts. Not even sure why you brought that up in regards to talking about RFAs. It's free agency and middling players getting too much money for too much term. Which is again, a GM issue of being stupid. Not an issue with RFAs.
  9. Everyone says it's a business when GMs make moves in the best interest of the team, but have a problem when players start playing the business side. Now everyone wants rules to cut them at the knees.
  10. Florida man is a lot like a Targaryen. Madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Everytime a Florida man is born, the gods flip the coin into the air and the world holds it's breath to see how it lands.
  11. Byram and Newhook. Call it a day. I know Byram is a LD. But that crispy potential.
  12. I am guessing there are no real desires to move Miller. If there is management really is doing a pretty bad job. Took Calgary barely a week to move Tkachuk.
  13. Truuuuuuuue. But, I am guessing things weren't going well in the Huberdeau contract discussions. Otherwise, why move him? Tkachuk for 8 years >>>>>>>1 year of Huberdeau a glorified 2nd rounder, and Weegar who also might be looking to cash in more than they'd like. Throwing in Bennett seems a little unfair given we have no clue who they'll move out for cap.
  14. "Dubois reluctingly accepts QO" is probably a better title. Lol. Winnipeg feeling that Calgary love right now. Dubois is pretty mid, but he has a decently big name still from being drafted high. Maybe they can get a decent haul from him. Jets are stuck in that spot Minnesota was in forever. Just good enough to hang in the playoff hunt, but not bad enough to fully commit to a rebuild.
  15. Barkov and Reino though. Oooof. That's gonna be a good team. Of course, the immortal 18 year old himself is there to welcome Tkachuk to the squad.
  16. He's still gonna be going after similar dollars here. Especially with Vancouver being a Canadian city.
  17. He had a minor NTC. So we can assume he's at least somewhat okay going to Calgary. Lol. Considering many thought they were going straight to a rebuild it says something that he didn't have them as one of the 8 teams he won't waive for. I could see him re-signing with them.
  18. Calgary can try maintain form with Weegar and Huberdeau, and they got a 1st round pick to flip for more roster players. The idea they are dead in the water might not be true.
  19. Miller gonna be hunting for 8.5m at least. I always knew 7.5m was a long shot. Lol. Oh well. This is a lot to pay for someone that hit 100 points once and the guy that helped him do it isn't on this team. But hey, Tkachuk at least brings more than just points. I am a closet Panthers fan, so I am excited to see how he fits.
  20. He doesn't get prime 1st line minutes. He averages 18 minutes a game. Miller averages 3 minutes more per game. Matthews, 20 minutes a game. Mackinnon, 21. I could go on. He gets borderline 2nd line icetime. Horvat averages more ice time, and he doesn't even kill penalties. Boeser had 33 takeaways to 21 giveaways last season. Horvat has fewer takeaways. We gonna say Horvat doesn't backcheck or is bad defensively? Boeser is not poorly condiditoned. He's just not fast. Never have I seen a fanbase trash someone harder than they trash Boeser. It's perplexing. Nobody is saying he is a defensive dynamo, but Boeser is not a liability.
  21. Was this said outright last season? Cause if this is true Treliving's time may be numbered. There aren't very many former Canucks on the market for him to stay afloat with.
  22. As much as people wanna vilify Tkachuk. It seems like he told Calgary his intentions early so they can trade him. Instead of losing him for nothing like they did with Johnny Hockey. Although at least in that case they got him for free so all they really lost was hope going forward. I don't think Tkachuk wants to do them wrong, he just doesn't want to be there. Which sucks in of itself, but is what it is. Edit: I was wrong about Gaudreau. I thought he was a NCAA free agent for some reason. But losing a 4th rounder that played 8 really good seasons for you stings less than a 6th overall pick that wants our before turning 25.
