  1. I'm at the point with weather forecasts, that I always believe none of these warning ever materialize. Its all about getting people to panic, and then staying home if a few flakes start to fall. Mind you, if everyone put snow tires on their vehicles we wouldn't have to worry about a few inches of snow, would we? It gives transit a few more excuses as to why their buses don't have to get out on the road as well. Next news at Global, the head of Vancouver works yard will show us in his backdrop how many snowplows, piles of salt, and crews ready to roll. Meanwhile last year Broadway was a parking lot, because none of this happened. I would have hated to see a real snowfall.
  2. Get ready for that phone call Darren, with Hansen out, I think you're on deck.
  3. Its too bad, because when Samuelsson was healthy he was a stud. When he got injured, different story. He really did work well with Kesler. He missed most of last season too.
  4. Rick Ball is a hell of a lot better than Mark Lee any day of the week. Going to the game, as well, should be a good one, Hawks hopefully, spent the night at the Roxy if its still around.
  5. According to Gord Miller and Ray Ferraro he's a Canadian. Not sure though if he's played at any level for Sweden. Just checked wiki, he did play in the World jrs, and WC for Sweden. Not sure why Miller and Ferraro had this discussion, they should be on top of this.
  6. Wondering why Alex Steen isn't on anyone else's radar, other than mine. Team Canada should be looking at this guy.
  7. How did Yallop fall from the Caps? Had he signed before Rennie was fired? As long as they don't go Brit, seems like that's the only place the Caps look when hiring managers, there are many more programs that are working better.
  8. Ouellett? sp Other than that hint please!
  9. Yep, how Bobby keeps falling into these positions is beyond me. I still say they need to completely overhaul this thing.
  10. How this once great franchise has fallen. Moulsen and all those picks for a thirty year UFA.
  11. The Caps need a coach that can figure out a starting lineup from game ONE. Home country commitments withstanding, very seldom did Rennie ever put out a side that looked like it was capable of winning. If the coach doesn't know his players well enough, he shouldn't be coaching. I agree with you, they do have some great young possibilities, but the Caps need someone to develop them into talented players.
  12. One more game for Mr Renney, he said hopefully. Maybe Mr Bobby too. This team needs a gutting.
  13. He's a breath of fresh air for the NFL, exudes confidence, which in turn rubs off on his players. The Seahawks are serious contenders this season, if any panel fails to see that, they're in the wrong occupation.
  14. All of your statements are true, however, CBC is a NATIONAL Television Network, for ALL of Canada and its taxpayers, not for the Toronto market only. Sportsnet and TSN, just might do as you say, however, they do have regional outlets. CBC sports is based in Toronto, that's the difference between the three networks.
  15. I've got a feeling that Mike Green might be on the radar as far as Dmen go. This is the first season he's been healthy in years.
  16. Power was out in my neighbourhood for almost 6 hours. Was it that windy overnight?
  17. They had no answer all afternoon against RSL, didn't look like they had a plan, can't complete passes properly, and other than two or three players on the roster, don't resemble a professional team. Yes, the coach should be on the hot seat, but so should management and their evaluation of talent. What is the reason, Vancouver soccer teams always look to GB for coaching? Very disappointing indeed. A team comes to your building with their seconds, and totally shuts you down. To top it off, control the pace of the game as well.
  18. I think a whole year of development was lost with many of the Canucks' prospects last season in Chicago. That whole situation had disaster written all over it from the beginning. Garrett mentioned Cannatta being behind Climie for one. Rodin although he might have been injured, hardly saw the ice, just to name two.
