  1. To be honest, I'd never heard of this kid, but I like him already. This allows kids like Brock, Elias, Jonny, et al to play 20 pounds heavier. Plus, he's a bigger center, one the Canucks need.
  2. They looked like matadors, and had no pass rush in the entire 2nd half. I turned it off at the 5 minute mark of the 3rd quarter. The game was ovah! Time to put an end to Wally ball.
  3. Plus, the team was decimated with injuries, and the Canucks almost had to sign him to a NHL contract. Was he in any fights during his time as a late season addition? He had that reputation in the AHL, but I haven't seen it at the NHL level.
  4. Is he available to play in the young stars event on the 5th of July?
  5. Pettersson, Demko, Hughes, Dahlen, Gaudette, Woo, DiPietro, Gadjovich, Lind, and Jasek. Forgot Juolevi, the top ten is 11.
  6. Having rarely watched his dad John play, was John Madden a fast, quick skater? I think this kid will do well.
  7. Truculence, we need more damn truculence in the league......I need a new tie..
  8. Has Brian Burke ever watched Troy Stetcher play??? I don't believe he's hit 175 yet.
  9. Jake looks buff as he**. Looking forward to this upcoming season.
  10. I just saw a feed on fb, showing Daniel, Henrik, and Brock meeting the Humbolt Broncos. I'm pretty sure McDavid was introducing them to the Humbolt team, and he got a chuckle out of the players, including Daniel and Henrik. I don't know how to move stuff from that forum to the Canucks board, but check it out its on the Canuck fb page. Good on the NHL for getting that team to the NHL awards, they deserve everything, after what they've gone through.
  11. They don't play in bubble wrap, my friend!
  12. Rainey had two td's called back last night on punt returns. How many times is that in the time he has spent in the Leos camp? Far too often, it's like the zebras are looking for something, anything, in games to throw flags. I'm not sure if other returners have this happen, but man, that gets more people out of their seats when someone even looks like they're going to go the distance. The game last night wasn't anything but a pre-season game.
  13. I listened to the CEO on the giant 98 this morning with Jon McComb. He stated that Big Oil is also in on this. If I am not mistaken, Big Oil has a huge stake in the electric car market. I just don’t see them wanting to hurry any of these new and exciting ways to get rid of emissions once and for all. The big holdup with this, it has to be refined and there aren’t enough available to get this on the market for consumers.
  14. Not when Bill Bennett was Premier, he started the downhill slide, Christy Clark continued it. For some reason those two had it in for the educators of the Province. But, he did get his driveway right to his house in Kelowna......
  15. While the oil pipeline and tanker project has split the country in recent public opinion polls, Trudeau's offer to buy the Kinder Morgan assets appears to have united both the right and left-leaning opposition parties in Ottawa. Scheer has blamed Trudeau for failing to resolve political uncertainty that led Kinder Morgan to threaten to abandon its expansion project. "Trudeau’s failure means billions of tax dollars paid to Kinder Morgan to leave Canada," Scheer wrote on Saturday. "Now we learn the bailout included massive bonuses to executives. Fewer opportunities for Canadians, but more taxpayer funded bonuses for millionaires." As if the Conservatives have never done this.......
  16. When almost the entire D was injured, MDZ played huge minutes, which probably affected his play near the end of the season. To say that any injured player doesn't warrant a roster spot isn't fair to those players. They can't help it if they're injured, and besides it creates a domino effect on the rest of the D roster. Depth guys playing more minutes than they are accustomed.
  17. ...and the same people say that OJ needs to get used to playing in NA as well.
  18. Like I said previously, these retailers know they’ve got close to a million customers (BCAA lower mainland numbers), is it any wonder that they can’t help but look a gift horse in the mouth?
  19. One of the kids he mentioned, looked like he was 12 years old. But, he's playing in the SHL as well. He might be the d-man.
  20. Did you, or anyone else on this board catch the interview with the Swedish reporter (blogger)? Sat on SN650 had him on yesterday around 10ish in the am. Very good insight into his game, his progress, and his possible future with the Canucks. He doesn't agree that EP should stay in the SHL for one more year, BUT, his GM is thinking he might. EP has been very non-committal about coming to the NHL next season, but he did allude to others, the twins, Forsberg, Nilsson, etc., who stayed 2 or 3 years after being drafted. His odds were 70%-30% he comes though. He went on to say how impressed Backlund was with EP's game, as far as poise, skill, and intensity. He named 2 more kids that are draft eligible this year, a forward and a d-man, I was driving, talking to my granddaughter, etc., but didn't get there names. Late first rounders early second this year.
