[Signing] Stars sign Derrick Pouliot
Baratheon replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
According to Dhaliwal Tryamkin got offers but decided that it wasn't worth moving his family for them. I doubt he got offered less than Pouliot (is that even possible or is he getting league minimum?). So, not exactly true. -
[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade

If only my wife looked at me the way that you look at Brett Pesce. Hell! I'd even settle for how you look at Pius Suter! -

[Signing] Maple Leafs sign Dylan Gambrell

Probably worth it to take a Gambrell on this guy. -
Stanionis vs Ortiz coming up this weekend. I’m guessing that most haven’t heard of them but I think it will be a fun one!

Nah! We had a lot of fights last year but nobody was intimidated by it. We got tougher to play against on the ice and I'm not concerned about the new guys getting pushed around after the whistles. The difference in hits isn't much. (483 vs 448) If we're throwing less hits because we have the puck and aren't chasing it then that's a good thing.

[Signing] Canucks sign Matt Irwin
Baratheon replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Being passionate does not = being impulsive/reactionary. You can have a well thought out position that you passionately defend/believe in. Disagreement is not a bad thing. (it's when people can't handle disagreement) I actively encourage the guys working under me to let me know if they disagree with how I'm doing things. They might be right! -

Agreed! There are some definite trends however. That's all I'm referring to. Some posters are SUPER impulsive and reactionary. In my experience you are not one of them. (Hence the thoughtfulness in this very response) -

Some day someone needs to write a book about the fan reaction to our current management. They were heroes less than 24 hours in. Villains less than 2 months in. Heroes again soon after before fans once again hated them due to the Bruce situation. Aaaand once again heroes now that we've made some good moves. Haha funny little fanbase that we have. -
[Signing] Canucks sign Carson Soucy

Nice Lots of heft added to the D. Wonder how much our average size goes up simply because of him and Cole. -

Helps for now and doesn't screw us in the future. I like it -

Tampa, Florida…. What’s difference really? Agreed! -

They have Montour and Ekblad. I can’t see OEL getting much PP time. -

Lol if you say so. Seemed to be a problem with his decision making in many instances. Not an athletic problem. -

You can throw out whatever stats you like that show how effective OEL can be in a bottom pairing. (And maybe you’re right.) I just can’t shake the memories of some of the brain dead plays that he made last year. His injury doesn’t explain why he seemed to spontaneously forget how to play hockey at times.
