  1. Craig Button offered some words of encouragement on THN last night.  Said the rebuild is going to be a lot faster than most people realise and we got a fairly well stacked pool of prospects at every position.

@Green Building I just didn't like that people continue to trumpet this idea that the Canucks are confused, in flux, unclear in their direction, etc.

It seems pretty dam clear this is a full blown rebuild now. They're not stripping it down to the frame overnight but the rebuild has definitely begun and will continue. I think there's a decent chance Edler gets traded by next season and that just about does it in terms of offloading vets. Tanev is still pretty young so I don't consider his departure to be necessary for a rebuild. The Sedins are pretty much immovable at this point so I just don't see that happening.

I gotcha, and I agree with you, but I think the media tip toes around it because management has as well. The actions say one thing, and they clearly reflect what you're saying, yet the message from JB and TL has been slightly mixed at times. I personally don't care what they say, but rather what they do. I'm not a season ticket holder, but I get they were trying to perhaps soften the mass exodus of ticket holders. That's just business. Did it work? Or did it jade some fans who pay money to watch the games? I don't really care how most fans feel about management, I care about the direction the team is headed. Actions speak louder than words.

I thought Friedman comments implied that owners won't allow a rebuild to happen.  I didn't like that comment either tbh.
