  1. Looking to start baking my own bread, any tips(no breadmaker) like where to get some yeast?  Thx.

      good luck to you. The no yeast ones can sometimes come out on the harder side, this one looks more like a regular loaf: https://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/classic-american-salt-rising-bread-recipe

      Also look for recipes with baking powder or soda.  Not that they're interchangeable but both can also leaven.

      too bad you bought a mixer

      expensive

      i have used bread makers as a mixer and proofer for my bread

       

      when it has risen the last to final time

      i remove the dough from the mixer

      knead it into 2 loaves

      put in traditional loaf pans

      let them rise a final time

      and put them in a regular oven

       

      you get proper sized slices that way

      and the breadmaker provides a double function as a mixer and proofer

      it is usually way cheaper then a mixer

      i just don't like the size and style of bread it makes

      if i let the breadmaker bake the dough
