  1. It's like you're really a Pantera fan but you hang out at the One Direction forum. Makes no sense.
  2. Something had to be done. This was dangling out there for a long time. At least it's a 5th and not Hoglander.
  3. Thanks for that. That's good advice to see on here. I'm my own worst enemy with that at times. Guilty. Always think afterward ... damn, I shouldn't have done that. Wasted energy.
  4. I agree, and great points. There are so many reasons for the negativity. It really is complex. I also think there are social, economic, cultural, and geographical factors at play too. It's a really deep rabbit hole. Way too much to unpack here. But yeah ... at the end of the day, have at 'er. To each their own.
  5. I never claimed to know anyone outside the forum. Of course I don't. You're dead wrong on thinking my point about negativity and toxicity is tied to needing people to agree with my world view or they're toxic. That's ridiculous. It doesn't take a genius to know there's an undercurrent of negativity and toxicity within this fanbase. I think some - certainly not all - of that negativity is veiled as support when really it's just downright negativity and pessimism. If I'm wrong, so be it. That's just my opinion. I don't expect it to be sunshine and rainbows all the time but I do agree there's room for positivity. Our win last night was a significant positive after nearly two weeks of constant negativity. Anyway, we can agree to disagree. Have a good day anyway.
  6. Enjoy the game. Hoping for a miracle win tonight to keep it going.
  7. Pens are coming off back to back losses in Alberta. It's going to be a tough one. Even tougher if Miller is out. Hopefully we can find some miracle magic from last night's win.
  8. The team got a win when they desperately needed one. The negativity here, in the city, and with the media was becoming unbearable. Can't imagine what it must have felt like in the locker room. If they can put in a full 60 effort like that first period more often, they may be able to get a few unlikely wins and have bounced go their way. They did what they need to do to get the win. The physicality, setting the tone, knocking them off balance, creating opportunities ... there WAS good to celebrate last night after a week of increasing negativity. I am hoping for a turnaround. We saw it last season. I want to see these guys put it together and play to their potential while resetting a few other key pieces. I will concede though ... If things do continue to go south, this would be THE year to get a player like Bedard.
  9. We do see things differently. I'm not bothered by it at all. It just is. We have different perceptions of toxicity. Some feel that decades worth of frustration is a free pass to be toxic, and justify their inherent negative behavior and negative mindset as people. That kills their credibility and ability to get heard by other fans. At the end of the day, it's just all toxic if there isn't balance, context, and room for positivity, even the slightest in a win like tonight.
  10. Hey, I appreciate what you're saying. Just realize there are a lot of people on these boards who are tired and exhausted of the toxicity. People have been flexing on others here for the past week. For those looking and waiting for the win, and hopefully a turnaround, a win is a win, a positive. They don't need to look like contenders to get the win, they just need the win to get the last week's negativity off their backs. That matters. This past week, fans of a certain approach to the team, imo, haven't accepted that the pendulum would swing the other way. We weren't going to go 0-82 like some were carrying on like. Balance was very much needed this past week to counter all the negativity and toxicity.
  11. We won. It wasn't a loss. We won no matter how much you try to make it a loss. We won.
  12. @Devronnailed it. Balance is necessary. These past eight games have been revealing. You have to understand the pendulum will swing the other way. This is a hockey forum full of folks with all sorts of views. Don't cry when others challenge "warranted criticism" after a win.
  13. 100% @Devron ... balance is where we find common ground. Even if they don't like it.
  14. I never said anything about better fans. I said wins are going to come. You have no idea what I believe.
