  1. Perfectly said and really captures how I feel as well. You're not too far ahead if me age wise, so this hits home. Really love your point about having hope. It's a special thing - I've come to understand - that often teaches you things about yourself you otherwise wouldn't have known or experienced if you weren't Canucks fan ... namely how to maintain hope through difficult, seemingly impossible circumstances. Also, how to handle disappointment - as your relationship with being disappointed changes - yet still be hopeful while appreciating the good things that do happen within bad seasons. I remember watching the 82 finals at my grandmother's house, knowing the Canucks didn't have a chance whatsoever ... yet there was still something inside me that said ... "What if" and believed in the possibility of an impossible comeback despite the odds. Of course we got thumped by the Islanders - which taught me how sometimes you have to accept reality ... but as a fan, I never ever want to lose that "what if" hope.
  2. A lot of "Boeser's getting traded for sure" peeps be like ...
  3. Really enjoyed this interview and Kesler's thoughts on the Sedins and Roberto. Also looking back on 2011 and how he feels today. Really good stuff! Appreciate him being so candid.
  4. MDP + Dickinson + Poolman for Tanev, Markstrom ... + 1st ... and somehow Shinkaruk.
  5. Agree about DiPietro. I just hope he gets a good shot with another team so he isn't haunted by "if only if Covid didn't happen" for the rest of his life. Silovs' performance at the World Championship can't be ignored by the organization. He outperformed a bonafide NHL starter in team mate Elvis Merzlikins. We could very well have a really good goaltending problem on our hands over the next couple seasons.
  6. Pretty crazy how his trajectory has evolved. It certainly proves that nothing is guaranteed and how quickly things can change. It wasn't that long ago it was assumed he would soon be Demko's backup. Enter COVID, the taxi squad, lack of play, and the sudden rise of both Martin and Silovs. Hope he gets a legit shot elsewhere and the proper opportunity to regain his game.
  7. Born and raised there before moving to Vancouver. Happy my hometown will share in the Cup with MacKinnon.
  8. What a great series! Stanley Cup headed to Nova Scotia with MacKinnoon. Happy for my hometown.
  9. OMG ... you gotta be schmiemann' me ... So true!
  10. WOOHOO ... Hoping for Tampa win tonight ... have to go out to a dinner at 6pm. Hoping this goes 7.
