I said I wasn't gonna post here again... but... it's after midnight and we're still alive plus I'm drunk so why the hell not!

I’ve registered on the new forums, and this will be my last post here. Nice to see so many folks on the new site already! C’mon over everyone! I’ve had blast here over the years. GDT’s were so often more fun than the games themselves and kept me sane during some dark seasons. Adios my amigos

It would be amazing if this site could be moved, as-is, to a private server. Any chance of that happening? I'd chip in some money to make that happen. Otherwise...

Wherever the most of y'all are going, I will follow. This is a great bunch of people.

Well f**kity f**k. That shutdown notice at the top of the page hit me like a punch in the gut.

(Article) Canucks: How Jett Woo found his way back to big-upside prospect
Strawbone replied to RWJC's topic in Canucks Talk
I sure hope he has big upside. It feels like he's been around long enough that he needs to make the team by next season, or he'll never make it. -
If it was indeed a "hand over your phone" scenario, then that's a real invasion of privacy. Everyone has stuff on their phone that they don't want other people to see. Your phone is your life, especially for younger people, and there could be so much compromising info on it. If it was a "can you show me a few family photos" scenario with the players volunteering the photos, I don't see that as a big deal as long as they picked the photos.

[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade
Strawbone replied to brian42's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
So much exploring -
That was my first thought as well. I have a daughter on the spectrum and she’s smart as could be but socially she is incredibly awkward and sometimes inappropriate. Her brain just isn’t wired for social situations, and the few times we’ve forced her in to uncomfortable social interactions she had such a need to control the situation that it comes across as very controlling and bossy. If Babcock is on the spectrum (pure speculation) then I feel a little bad for him because he may honestly not realize at all that he’s putting people in very uncomfortable situations. He probably just needs to stop the touchy feely stuff and stick to X’s and O’s.

[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade

If Myers gets traded before the season starts, I'll eat my hat. -

If we get Pesce I'll eat my hat.

[Report] Canucks name Quinn Hughes as captain
Strawbone replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Yeah there’s no way Horvat deserves to be booed. He may not have led this team to much success, but so much was out of his control and I believe he did his best. He’s just not inspirational captain material, and really got the job by default. -

I don't think a boss/coach that you're going to be spending a ton of time with over the course of the year is out of line in trying to get to know you better by seeing some of your family photos. I've shared photos of my family and pets with my co-workers including my boss. However, putting someone on the spot without warning could be uncomfortable, simply because, if they are anything like me, they might have a bunch of photos that they would rather not display for everyone to see, and unless you keep your photos organized in to nice little albums, they're all mixed together. I'm not talking nude photos or anything like that (I'm not that dumb, maybe some players are lol) but just personal family photos that I'd rather keep private. At the very least, the players should have been asked ahead of time to prepare a few photos that they were happy to share. This just feels more clumsy than nefarious to me. I feel a little bad for Babcock if that's the case.

[Report] Canucks name Quinn Hughes as captain

I think people are forgetting that hockey players are human beings, with all the flaws that go along with that. I’ve learned not to judge anyone based on my limited knowledge of them. Nobody here knows what really goes on in these players lives and in the room, and some of the speculation feels off base. A good winning season is what this team, and us fans, really need! -

Now if Petey would just sign an 8x10 extension before the start of training camp, we’d be heading in to the season with nothing but good vibes! -

Hear hear! Just one tiny little concern... is he the smallest captain in the league?
