  1. What’s this guy’s potential? I always feel like these “free” college players are unlikely to become impact NHL players and it’s too good to be true if they do. Especially with Canuck luck. Should I be excited about this?
  2. As much as I like wins, even I’m starting to get a little annoyed! Take it down a notch boys! I honestly assumed with the roster they have here to close out the season that they would naturally play about .500 the rest of the year but Tocchet has them playing smart hockey. Bodes well for next season at least. As an aside, I’m surprised how little I miss having Horvat on the team. Like, not at all.
  3. Yeah they are not making the playoffs this year. Bwhahahaha!
  4. Maybe just a change of vibes. Bo seems like a really good guy and I doubt he ever caused any issues deliberately, but he has a bit of a somber mood about him that never inspired confidence with me. That might have rubbed off on the team a bit.
  5. Playing with Petey is the key, and I doubt that is in the long-term plans. Hell, I bet Dakota Joshua could get 60 points if he played a full season on Petey's line.
  6. Aha so that explains all these little trades coming in today I assume. Teams making moves for AHL playoffs?
  7. Not for long I bet. Torts has the shelf life of unrefrigerated milk on a hot summer day.
  8. I got caught stealing a candy bar from a 7/11 when I was 10. True story.
  9. Not only are you a scumbag, but you are worthless vermin, a useless parasite, and utter trash!! We should maybe all get Heffy a thesaurus for his birthday All in good fun, I like all the characters on this forum. Makes it more entertaining as long as you can avoid being personally offended, and I've learned long ago that getting angry about what people say online is NOT a good use of my time or energy.
  10. But we really need to shore up our D! I guess I'd be a bad NHL general manager because I'd get the best D-man available with our 1st pick. I see that Pellikka is actually ranked higher on a lot of lists (in the 10-12 range) and that's probably going to be only a few spots a way from where we pick. He's a few inches shorter than Reinbacher, and we could use some size. Unless there's still a very good center available, I hope we go D. No more wingers!
  11. I see Reinbacher ranked outside the top 10 in most draft rankings, but he's the highest ranked D-man overall and is a right shot so I bet some team scoops him up before we can.
  12. Honestly, after the tire fire this team has been defensively for years, I'm enjoying watching some stronger defensive play. I'm really noticing players ending shifts earlier, not trying high-risk passes, getting the puck out of the zone safely, supporting each other, winning board battles, and basically not standing around out of position doing nothing! It's not like we're not scoring any goals. I don't need us to score 5 or 6 goals a night to be entertained.
  13. Here's a fun game. Search the forums for "vermin" and "parasite" and see how many King Heffy posts you can find
  14. I thought you were taking a break and cheering for another team a while back... might do your mental health some good!
  15. Man the improved defensive awareness is really noticeable. It's a more conservative style and we'll probably score less, but I'm fine with scoring 1 less goal a game if it also means we're giving up 2 less goals every game!
  16. I know! Getting mad at the team for winning seems really weird. Maybe don't watch the games then lol. The guys are playing hard and look so happy to be scoring and winning. Lots of smiles right now. They're getting paid millions to do exactly that job and I'm not going to begrudge the fact that they are doing it well!
  17. I think there’s a real misconception that those of us who still enjoy watching the team play well and win games at this point in the season are actually hoping for some kind of big winning streak. For me, I’d be very happy if the team lost more than they won down the stretch to improve our lottery odds. I’m not hoping for wins. But when they happen, and I have no control over it because we have some great players and good coaching, I can still enjoy that too because I will always like watching my team win games.
  18. That was a frickin' awesome interview. A motivated JT is what this team needs to win. When he's playing a high-effort straightforward game and not giving up on plays and trying risky blind passes he's a force and I think Tocchet is getting the best out of him. I hope it keeps up. If it does his contract is a bargain.
  19. I love seeing my Canucks win. To all the complainers…
  20. It’s really not. I mean I get that they may not want to deliberately tank but that’s totally unnecessary. Spread the minutes around and let young guys get some ice time. I’m a fan of the new coaching staff except for that. Especially when Tocchet says in every interview that he doesn’t want to play guys too much. It’s a bit weird.
