  1. While the Canucks are on the upswing (I’m convinced) the Flames are stinking it up and Huberdeau’s agent tweeted this last night. huh apparently I don’t know how to embed a tweet but you can still click on it lol https://twitter.com/walsha/status/1626444388669980672?s=20
  2. This is the Canucks so he probably ruptured his spleen and is out for 3-4 years.
  3. Hey, I found a couple treasures in those A&B Sound bargain bins! One was a collection of the top 100 classical songs of all time, I think it was a 4-CD set going for like $5, and I bought it on a whim, figuring it must have some good stuff on it. And it had this! I was in awe listening to it for the first time. I'm not religious but I'm a sucker for huge church choirs. I'm probably one of about a dozen people on the planet who would say this is their favourite song of all time, but it gives me goosebumps every time.
  4. I wish we were a single top-pair RHD away from being a contender, and maybe we are. Sometimes a single key player can have a huge ripple effect on the entire roster. But I don't think any of Stillman, Dermott, or Burroughs makes a contending roster, and OEL/Myers would be fine as a 3rd pairing but are paid like 1st pairing guys which really limits our options at acquiring another solid D-man or good defensive depth forward that I really think we need.
  5. I feel like I just attended a university lecture, but zoned out halfway through cuz I was thinking about the cute girl in the row in front of me. I need the Coles Notes version!
  6. If this team was close to being a cup contender, and adding a couple of really good pieces right now gave us a good chance of winning it all in the next couple of years, then yes. But right now, nope.
  7. C'mon boys, play hard for Silovs. I'm still slighty traumatized by DePietro's debut, one from which he never really seemed to recover. If Silovs lets in less than 5, he's doing better than our other goalies have done for most of the season.
  8. We're playing as badly as any team in the league. We can do this! I really don't want to see many more 6-1 blowouts though. Keep it competitive and keep morale up. The team can't look like they've completely given up. They need to lose because they are not good enough, not because they are not trying.
  9. I couldn’t help but think of Horvat with that last comment too. He’s a good guy and good player but passion is not his strong suit.
  10. Interesting comments on JT Miller. Makes me feel better about the team choosing to extend him.
  11. While "should of" is never right, technically I think he said "shoulda". It's tricky when you're quoting someone, people use all kinds of contractions in day to day speech that look sloppy when written. If he'd written "should've" that would have been an incorrect transcription too. Look at me being all pedantic!
  12. So short lived that they may never actually existed at all! Apparently they test-marketed a few food items in one very small local market but lasagna was never one of them, from the bit of internet sleuthing I did. I should get back to work...
  13. Remember back when Martin got us points in like 9 straight games and people were speculating that we might not even need Demko? And then a bunch of other people pointed out how terrible Martin's underlying numbers were and we were only getting points because we were unsustainably out-scoring our problems? Those people were right!
  14. This thread confused the hell out of me for a bit. Didn't we just play Detroit? Did I go back in time overnight? And then I realized oh, it's totally possible to play the same team again at home. I just assumed this was another game in Detroit which didn't make any sense. It's gonna be a looong Monday.
  15. LOL, I just saw the ad for that during the Super Bowl and it was very much a WTF moment! Like, how does that little news story make it in to a feature film playing in actual movie theatres?
  16. I dunno man, he's played a bunch on McDavid's wing and looked really unimpressive. That's hard to do. I'm not sure he's got what it takes to be a good NHL player. Reminds me a bit of Virtanen, just endless frustration watching a guy who's big, strong, has a hard shot, and can skate like the wind do... pretty much nothing.
