  1. They both look like scrawny high school kids compared to Schenn... now there's a MAN
  2. Also, I’m receiving VERY STRONG interest in the free coffee table I posted to Facebook Marketplace. Never put anything up for free unless you like your phone dinging every 2 minutes lol. My conclusion is that my coffee table > Horvat.
  3. I’m just kiddin’ around But I think there is a bit of a conundrum with 3 centres that most would consider to be 1st or 2nd line players all anchoring their own lines, if that’s what they decide to do, in terms of distributing ice time. Maybe it depends on the night and the opponent, and it’s not a bad conundrum to have. But is it the most effective way to spend $22m? Maybe, I dunno! Certainly gives the coaching staff serious options.
  4. I mean... that just might work. Ditch your 4th line entirely and spend the extra money on 3 really good lines that all get equal ice time. I'd watch that experiment!
  5. How much ice time does that leave for the fourth line center?
  6. Max NHL contract length should be 5 years. Players and teams change too much over an 8 year span to lock in for that long.
  7. Damn Kuz looking super big and strong in that clip! He tossed that guy aside like a rag doll!
  8. Diet for me. Anything with high levels of Tyramine triggers my migraines. So many delicious things I can’t eat, like aged cheeses or deli meats, soy sauce, kimchi, and some ripe fruits like watermelon. Sucks but I hardly ever get migraines now.
  9. Oh that would be an amazing contract that I think everyone here would love. I’m laughing because of how ridiculously unlikely it is.
  10. Not sure how to feel about this. He was hugely disappointing as a Canuck. My impressions of him are of a lazy, entitled guy who was at the very least a bit of a jerk off the ice. But if he can turn things around and put everything in the past, then good for him. Can't fault a guy for trying. He's already made more $$ than I will in my lifetime which is kinda irksome!
  11. So JT Miller will either be re-signed, traded, or walk away at the end of the season as a free agent, and nobody knows which of those is going to happen. I've read all 1200 pages so you don't have to!
  12. Sometimes I'm not 100% sure that book has all its facts straight.
  13. Between pandemics, climate crises, wars, inflation and political unrest, I'm not too confident in predicting the long-term health of the NHL or any other part of the economy at this point. Feels like humanity is at a tipping point. I hope he's right though!
  14. 2 hours since the last post? That’s too long people.
  15. I don't think they can let that happen. At that point, trading him OR keeping him are both going to make a lot of people unhappy. Because there's no way to know if we'll be in solid playoff contention next season, I think they have to get something done before the season starts.
  16. I believe the biggest change when Bruce came in was his positive energy, and not much to do with systems. Green had gotten so glum and gloomy towards the end, and it felt like it really rubbed off on the team. Bruce got the players to believe they could win, and had the record and experience to back it up, and everyone bought in. I'm sure anyone who's had a boss with negative energy knows how much it can impact your work. It recently happened to the team at my company, we replaced an older manager who'd kinda checked out with a young guy who has great energy and nothing but positive vibes and we're all more productive now. Here's hoping the good vibes continue in to next season for the Canucks. I have a feeling our trio of Russians might just be the positive surprise of the season - just a hunch
  17. I can't WAIT to see what this thread does when there's an actual trade or signing.
