  1. I want to believeroo the Flameroos will be a big busteroo next seasonaroo!
  2. We would have gotten some excellent years from him, and some assets when he left. We got zilcharoo for Juolevi. it doesn’t haunt my dreams or anything, but when that draft comes up in a discussion it will always irk me.
  3. This! So much money wasted on the last few years of long term speculative contracts. Nobody can predict how a player is going to perform over a 7 or 8 year span and what situation his team will be in. I’d be totally fine signing Miller to a big dollar 3 year contact, but of course that’ll never happen.
  4. Calgary stays good for another year damnit. This trade can't really be judged though until we see if the Flames can resign at least one of those guys. So... when do we get some shiny new toys?? It's feeling like we aren't going to get as much for Miller as most people would like...
  5. Am I the only one who reads thread titles around here?
  6. So, about that Ilya Mikheyev fellow... seems like a fine ice hockey player!
  7. Where did you hear that? If he really could be effective on the right side, that very much changes the way we can deploy our D next season.
  8. At least he's not pulling a Gaudreau, and is being up front about his intentions. Still stinks for Calgary, but a little more honorable.
  9. Oh man this is a bad look. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/trial-hears-former-canuck-jake-virtanen-was-extremely-drunk-when-he-met-accuser/ During his cross-examination of the woman in B.C. Supreme Court on Tuesday, lawyer Brock Martland showed a video clip of Virtanen vomiting into a bowl. ``Do you think he peed himself that night in addition to the vomiting?'' he asked. ``Yes,'' she said, adding that Virtanen's friends had told her it looked like he had urinated in his pants.
  10. Agree 100%. It almost looks like he's playing in exhibition games and he's the only one taking it seriously! He's obviously super skilled though, so it will translate in to goals at the NHL level. Especially on the PP where he's got more open ice. I'm tentatively excited
  11. Alf loves the taste of schadenfreude sprinkled on his popcorn!
  12. At least he put us over the top and got us in to the playoffs where we won a few rounds... That's what happened, right?
  13. I'm a terrible person. I can't stop laughing at this!
  14. I check this thread at least 10 times a day, disappointed yet entertained every single time. I think there’s something wrong with me lol
  15. Oh I know that’s stretching it but I go in to every new season fantasizing that everyone on the team is going to have their best season ever. Keeps me happy over the summer
  16. I'm way more excited about Mikheyev than I have any right to be, but that's my eternal off-season optimism! Some of his goal highlights are McDavid-esque, and if he can find that level of play more consistently he's gonna be a great player. I don't think he's peaked yet at all. I'm fully expecting a 50-60 point season from him, and strong seasons from the other Russians as well as they are all a positive influence on each other. I really like our forward group right now, if the coaches can find the magic line combos to get everyone producing at a top level, we're gonna score a lot of goals
  17. Haha, good catch! Kinda like the “turbo” tattoo that’s actually an alternator
