There’s an interview with Sutter on Sportsnet. Sounds like he’s getting a little better but has had continued setbacks. I feel so bad for the guy. I swear he sounded winded just doing the interview. As much as we made fun of Benning’s “foundational” comments, Sutter would still be a useful player on this team next year.

This tells me one thing. Trade Demko! Clearly we don't need him and imagine the haul! -
Absolutely, their play after BB arrived was exceptional given the roster, and with the exception of a few stinkers, they were entertaining almost every single game. Some breakout performances, incredible seasons by Demko, Hughes, and Miller, Petey's return to form, Horvat continuing to improve, Podkolzin growing in to a solid NHLer before our eyes... lots to like about this year, and I'm definitely looking forward to an even better season next year.

I think the boys were trying their darnedest last night, but just ran out of stream. It was more a problem of execution than effort. Playing elimination games for a month straight has to get tiring. -

That was a heck of a win streak. We were never gonna win 12 in a row but I’m proud of how the boys battled. Let’s just finish the season strong. -

I'm so torn. I really don't like Toronto, I hate Edmonton a bit less, and I despise the Flames. But... I'd really like to see the Cup come back to Canada. If any Canadian team makes the finals, I'll be grudgingly cheering them on. -
Yeah I'm about as excited about the Canucks playoff chances as I am of winning a Set for Life scratch 'n win ticket. i mean, there's always a chance, but deep down, I know the truth lol

Even if this is his only season with us, he’ll still go down as one of my favourite Canucks coaches ever. He’s really salvaged this season and has been such a positive influence. Maybe his easygoing approach isn’t best for this team going forward, but I’ll trust our new management to make that decision.

I’m getting the same vibes as well. I can’t tell if he’s just resigned to the fact that they don’t really have a chance at the playoffs, if he knows he’s probably not back next season, or if the 3-month grind of trying so hard to make the playoffs has worn him down a bit and he’s just a little exhausted.

When you score 6 and still lose games, you ain’t winning a Stanley Cup. -

How did JR/PA do on TDL 2022? (10 being best, 1 being worst)

The fact that they didn't make any dumb long-term moves is a win to me. I trust that there wasn't a market out there for anything bigger, and they will get stuff done in the off season. I'm hopeful that Dermott has upside vs Hamonic, and saves us some money, Motte clearly wasn't getting re-signed and they got something for him, so I'm fine with this trade deadline. Not exciting, but not terrible, and sometimes the moves you DON'T make are the best ones. -
