TBH we are playing better defensively compared to last year. Other than Myers horrible giveaway, we weren't too bad. Last year we would have been out shot 40 to 21. If our power play clicked just once the momentum would have changed, and we wouldn't be in desperation mode for the whole game. So most important thing is to rework the first unit pp. Give newell brown a good spanking. Then get leivo out of there an tell him to never set foot on the power play again. Out first unit power play is a joke. Time to end this newell brown spread the talent on 2 units power play and load it up on the first unit. For starters get leivo out of there. Put horvat back in the front so we can have more down low plays, instead of just all passing between Petey and edler plays, because it's predictable AF. I don't hate Jake, just accepted that he has no potential to be a top 6 forward. He has shown no hockey IQ, does not have the hands to bury the puck in close range, does not get to the right spots for scoring chances.

I agree, a rebuild does take time Perhaps Aquaman is extending now to get JB for cheaper, vs if the canucks season does indeed go well, then JB's value may go up. like a FA?

There's no doubt JB has drafted talented players, but I wouldn't consider JB has done a "good job", since we haven't made the playoffs since 2014-2015. Hence why it may be more prudent for aquaman to have waited to see how the season goes before dishing out the contract
