There were a lot of younger players in camp who kicked it up a notch knowing that the team had gained cap space that would have offered new opportunities for full time work and salary up in the GML. In fact, all but one player who didn’t suit up for a full season last year who were fighting for empty spots, are of the age of 22 years old or younger, each with less than 10 career GP in the GML Also with recent additions of Brent Burns, Lars Eller, Alex Alexeyev and Dominic Toninato all now dawning the blue and gold, it seems GMSB is focused on gaining both veteran experience and youth as Nashville continues its quest for their second GML championship. One has to think however that with all of these prospects getting cut from camp, that free agency may still be a tool used to fill in holes, especially on right wing. Rumblings have surfaced in the media that these holes would be filled through trade, but there is nothing solid to report as of yet.
