  1. I agree with a lot of this, but I don't see his skating as a concern. He has pretty good top end speed as highlighted by the amount of times he beat defensemen wide to the outside and strong enough to win races to pucks. He may look awkward, almost Mason Raymond-esque in his stance, so it may have a lot of room to continue to improve which would be huge for him. I would put him as average speed wise in the NHL at the moment with potential to be above average. I also don't know why people would be offended by the Jannik Hansen comparison either, but I see the likeness more as his floor than his ceiling. He is still a raw talent, which under great coaching, could really develop into a gem. I view him as a potential Kesler styled winger for his ceiling personally.
  2. 100%. Playing with better players on a regular basis will elevate his game, and his game will elevate his linemates. Absolute beast along the boards - coming out with the puck more often than you would think capable. His passing game is totally under-rated as well. Definitely the best passer on Russia. This skill will shine once he plays with players that can bury the puck on the regular.
  3. Tweet summary: He had a few good passes, a couple ok plays along the board and stood in front of the net a bunch....... he was definitely not hounding the puck all game that's for sure. I guess you missed a good chunk of the game where he was just floating out there and watching the play rather than making the plays happen himself. ... Not really worth debating one down game though, so cheers. Hoping for a strong game from him tomorrow.
  4. lol sure, whatever you say Deb. You can take the blinders off any second now... Not every game needs to be defended fyi.
  5. If you actually watched the previous game, you wouldn't be saying this. If you did and are still claiming these statements, then your homerism is blinding you. He played poorly the previous game against CZE with very little intensity. Not a big deal. The whole team played like $&!#. The only player to show a consistent level of effort in the CZE game was the goalie Askarov. Pods played great this game and it was good to see. Complete 180 for him and the team from the previous game. The true test for them will come tomorrow against SWE.
  6. Based on this, I'm gonna say 6'2". KNYAZEV Artemi, number 3, is listed as 6'0" and SAFONOV Ilya, number 24, is listed as 6'4".
  7. I agree with this. There should be no denying that he didn’t look good out there. Way too much floating around watching the play to be effective. With that said, the whole Russian team besides the goalie was playing pretty terribly. Little to no chemistry happening between line mates and couldn’t move the puck quick enough to get good shooting lanes. Hoping they rebound in the next one.
  8. No? Was it just me?... I’ll see myself out... haha Exactly. Even Elon himself admitted they have to run a faultless company and media campaign to hold their valuation or they will be crushed like a “soufflé”. Long term they are definitely going to be huge. Not denying that and I 100% believe Cathie is making the right future calls. I do have doubts in the near term that TSLA can sustain this evaluation though given that the addition to the SP was their last big PR move they had lined up. They will be scrambling for PR hype over the next while, or down it goes. We may even see PR wars from EV companies over the next while selling hype. One good PR move from one company could equate to negative pricing in another. And so on...
  9. IMO and many others, Tesla is tending on thin ice. It’s hype and future promises at the moment without even the projections and revenue to back it up. Burry’s comments are at the back of everyone’s mind and when it starts to tank it’s going to tank hard. Fortunately / unfortunately I didn’t get in on Tesla early enough to purchase other than in my ETFs (still fairly new to investing but am diving in big to time to learn), but once it drops I’m jumping on huge. Analysts have been predicting a “bubble crash”, and there will obviously be a pull back of some sort, but it may not be the entire market - it’s the sectors that are currently WAY over valued that are going to plummet back to earth. They were still selling leaps for March at 300 which should tell you something. Long term though, they will do just fine, but in the near term is where we will see a bear. This is what I’ve gleamed from reading into this, so could obviously be totally inaccurate. But the market self adjusts from highs and will have some sort of pullback of course - I would put my money on these over hyped stocks being the casualty.
  10. All of the hedge funds and what nots were slated to buy into TSLA 10 mins to closing. If I had cash on hand I would of jumped on that jump. I fully expect it to tank now honestly.
  11. TLRY has already jumped near 25% in after hours... man I despise pre/post hours trading.
  12. "Mind Medicine (NEO: MMED) is raising even more cash. The company this evening announced that they have agreed to conduct a $50.0 million bought deal public offering, lead by Canaccord Genuity Corp. The financing is to be conducted at a price of $4.40 per unit, a significant 21.4% discount to today’s closing price of $5.60." https://thedeepdive.ca/mind-medicine-announces-50-million-bought-deal-financing-days-after-raising-34-5-million/ Thoughts? I guess I'll set a target buy price of $4.40. MMED seems to be aggressively fundraising money for their efforts.
  13. Got in at $12.50 as well. Looking good! Hoping for a good ride!
  14. What do you feel is a good buy in target for ALT? Has recently been down as far as 7.83. Do you think it will dip down to that again?
  15. Yeah, I don't really see a headbutt there, but sometimes it doesn't matter if you actually did it or not... as long as people THINK you're tough. Let the folklore continue! haha
  16. IMO we have been missing snarl ever since March 8, 2004 - the Bertuzzi incident. It has felt like we have been neutered ever since, playing a focused, restrained game under Sedin leadership. Fans have been calling to bring back the snarl, aka "push back", ever since the 2011 defeat. Good to see our players be on the edge of that notion without losing their composure to the point of being a detriment.
  17. Yup. Would have liked to of kept Manny, but he’s going to progress well into a larger coaching role. I’m hoping the guys on the team, whom dominated the dot last season, can now pass on the knowledge.
  18. I’m not saying that players are just simply better relatively as time has gone (note that I voted Potvin the last two rounds). What I am inferring is that not all decades of hockey are created equal. Some have far more gifted players, and thus more relative competition, than others. I believe we are about enter another era of great defensemen with already established D such as Hedman, Carlson and Josi, but also a plethora of young star defence including Hughes, Makar, Heiskanen, Dahlen, etc. that are about to change the game. Lidstrom didn’t revolutionize the game the way some other had, I also feel that he is over rated. He was great. Don’t get me wrong, but he wasn’t THAT great. He dominated the defensive awards in an era where there was a gluttony of mediocre defensemen. His only competition was a second half of their careers Niedermeyer and Pronger. Take 07-08 for example: his best competition (based on top Norris award voting) included Dan Boyle (4), Kimmo Timonen (5), Dion Phaneuf (6), Sergei Conchar (7)... etc. Tom Preissing and even Keith frickin Carney were even in the top 20. For what it’s worth, hockey didn’t even really matter until 1970 anyways.
  19. Disagree. When there is a lot less to be relative towards, it's seems less significant imo. We are talking about a 100 year difference here. In my mind, it's equivalent to being a high school hero.
  20. Voted Potvin. Robinson right there with him. Shore... over hyped for an era where barely anyone played the game.
  21. Voted Potvin. Nominate two time Norris Trophy winner, three time Stanley Cup champion, Conn Smythe winning, Duncan Keith...
  22. And in the last 15 seasons we have total of 48 games played by 2nd round Canuck draft picks from those respective years, so logically you can deduce that Demko and Hoglander will also be busts...
  23. Ummmmmm.... I don't believe he ever suggested to replace Motte with Jasek. /rant
