  1. Well aren't you a fountain of positivity. All that from one bag skate. hahaha
  2. Looks like conditioning rather than skill or ability to me. Probably reflective of how amateur the Yotes training is. Reminds me of when Tryamkin showed up from the KHL.
  3. Totally agree. Though it does help the team get to the net easier and battle in corners if we have some size, and vice versa, defend our crease against the larger forwards and defensemen of the league. Bear in mind this has also become a running joke on here for entertainment purposes only as well.
  4. We just want to know how "big" he is... what's creepy about that? hahaha For real though, it's likely that we just don't want our team to be pushed around (2011 PTSD).
  5. It's the same measurements that have been on Elite Prospects forever - which started the whole debate to being with. All of the measurements shown are just the "standard" measurements floating around rather than updated ones. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/512832/vasili-podkolzin
  6. Looks like Erik Gustafsson is trying to join the Decepticons...
  7. GM JB's new trick to the Stanley Cup: sign hold out RFAs later in the season resulting in prorated deals for the season to circumvent the cap.
  8. I need to give you proof that his arms would be shorter if he was 6'1" rather than 6'6"? HAHAHaha
  9. It's not an assumption that he would have less reach, power and size to defend. His game is built and suits a body that is his size. He would have to play a different styled game if he was smaller. To assume he would just become Lidstrom if he was smaller is a reach at best. Would Bertuzzi be Bertuzzi if he wasn't 6'3" and 230lbs?
  10. It actually is. The mobility part is an assumption on your part fwiw. Then he loses his reach, shot, power and strength to defend... all of which makes him a great defenseman, an elite one at that because he's 6'6" and 240lbs... edit: he already has great mobility.
  11. Are you really asking if Hedman would be worse of a defenseman if he was 6'1" 190lbs rather than 6'6" and 240lbs? Of course he would be. haha
  12. With all the talked of a bounce back year by our players, you would think that EP and QH would put some pressure on getting a deal done in order to attend training camp and come into the season fully prepared. It'll look bad on the players if they miss training and have another crap season. The agent probably could care less - he gets paid regardless. Negotiations "being all over the place" is kind of difficult to understand as you would think that there would be only so many scenarios....
  13. The guy has some dangles! I missed hearing about his World Tourny showing this summer where he won Bronze on team USA and was 2nd in the overall tourny for points. Looking forward to his debut! https://www.nhl.com/coyotes/news/garland-dazzles-at-world-championship/c-325255770
  14. Even if they signed today, there will be at least a weeks worth of debating the contracts and GM JBs job. Then, hopefully, we can start talking about the actual playing of hockey and Podkolzin's height/weight when training camp starts. 6'1.5" and 203 lbs....
  15. While not an opening night reality, I would like to see at some point: Miller - Pettersson - Podkolzin Hoglander - Horvat - Boeser Pearson - Dickinson - Garland
  16. Just like when Marc Staal left the New York Rangers to join his two brothers in Carolina...
  17. Linden is an all-time great, but Bertuzzi was flat out dominant in his prime. We’ve been searching for a player of his ilk on the ice ever since. Went with #44
  18. I'm looking for another "break season" from these three. I feel like they will be in running for "best American Canuck" by the time they hit their prime. If Boeser can surpass his rookie season which he was on pace for 72 points and 38 goals, he easily takes the lead. Same could be said for Hughes. Looking forward to this season!
  19. It was a tie for me between 2nd line center Kesler and 1st line winger JT Miller. Went with JT Miller. Recency bias.
  20. What abuse are you specifically referring to? Are you talking about the fans on CDC slinging them through the mud or...? If you think CDC has an affect on players... you might want to reconsider your importance here. Vancouver media is notoriously negative towards our team / players. Is that we you are referring to? I don't recall any "Lucic" esque moments of people trying to fight the Sedin's or Edler on Granville (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/milan-lucic-disgusted-and-outraged-with-vancouver-fans-1.2465347)...
