You gotta do you and be a little selfish when you have better opportunities lined up. Don't allow a false sense of loyalty hold you back.

The deed is done, CDC fam, it was not as bad as I thought. the owners were just happy I am willing to assist with the transition and some ad hoc duties on the side. No bridges burned. Now I can enjoy the weekend! New job 2021 here I come.

nice. Glad you handled it that way and it went well.

  2. Perhaps that could be lumped in as a property expense for the new CERS program https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/subsidy/emergency-rent-subsidy.html
  3. Some people are just ridiculous. Put a thin piece of cloth over your face, or get a charge on your criminal record ? tough choice Another reminder that enforcement by employees can be risky business https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/server-takes-glass-to-the-face-after-edmonton-pub-customer-reminded-of-mask-bylaw-1.5214695 Server takes glass to the face after Edmonton pub customer reminded of mask bylaw
  4. Now wouldn't that have been something... oh what could have been Unfortunately whoever made that assumption did not know the Sedin's well enough they family men
  5. I completely agree... that was just about an isolated case where they happened to test an entire school and look what happened
  6. They are all humans living in the same geographical area, no? You were saying there is no way that a school should have X % amount of higher infection compared to gen pop, and you are right, the infection rate is lower than the gen pop in the surrounding area. My question is how in the world is the surrounding community at 16% positivity rate... nearly 1 in 5
  7. From the last paragraph of the article it sounds like you are correct, the rate is actually lower than the surrounding community.. fwiw “I know news of these additional cases will, understandably, be worrisome for families,” Principal Jeff Crane said in the letter. “Since COVID-19 continues to spread in the community, finding additional cases in schools from broad testing is not unexpected at this time.” Crane noted in the letter that the positivity rate within the school is at 4 per cent, which is lower than the 16 per cent positivity rate within the surrounding community. “This means that there is currently a higher percentage of people who test positive for COVID-19 in the community compared to in this school setting,” he said.
  8. No love for POCO in here haha... good thing I am just across the border in Coquitlam which is the best municipality in my bias view. lots of mountains and lakes. ocean inlet via port moody at rocky point.. it is basically in the same area. skytrain accessible. plus many areas are still slightly more affordable than port moody or burnaby.
  9. You are right it is not worth my time complaining about it, I am sure there are many circumstances where it is appropriate, and they are getting less than $500 anyway so who cares. I posted the article since most people are probably looking forward to some christmas cash, myself included. When it is tax dollars at work we are all entitled to judge how they are being utilized... as they say opinions are like .. everyone has one. Thankfully I have no worries about being evicted but I appreciate the sentiment.. we are all in this together.. hopefully hockey starts back up in January and we can all rejoice in that
  10. Yes we all have things to pay for.. if you have made in that salary ballpark for a consistent number of years I assume you have a decent savings stash and/or emergency fund that you have dipped into. Mid-March is quite some time ago. In any case I hope the $1000 eases your financial situation a bit, as it is intended to edit... also that $87K limit and my comments were directed at individual people making that.. which is not your situation having a family/dependents
  11. I would prefer my tax dollars not subsidize a lavish lifestyle when someone can adjust their means of living to a lower standard and/or should be capable of saving enough money to withstand the economic downturn.. but I digress.. it is easy to judge and complain from a keyboard you are right.
  12. Here is the guideline from Bonnie; Outside of school-related sports programs, sports organization are to maintain their Phase 3 restart plan but with no spectators for indoor or outdoor sports and no travel outside the community for the next month. Here is the 44 page Phase 3 doc.. https://www.viasport.ca/sites/default/files/Phase_3_Return_to_Sport_Guidelines_web_09-30-2020.pdf
  13. c'mon Horgan give us some cash for christmas.. a bit crazy how individuals pulling in up to $87K salary can get a handout.. however minimal on the sliding scale it is.. I would think $62K salary is a decent cap https://www.tricitynews.com/news/british-columbians-may-still-get-1-000-in-the-mail-by-christmas-horgan-1.24241548 He added: “We’re targeting Christmas, of course,” before saying the payments could come in early January. The $1,000 benefit applies to families with a combined household income of less than $125,000 per year. Payments to families making more than that will be granted on a sliding scale up to $170,000. Individuals making less than $62,000 a year were said to be eligible for a one-time $500 payment, with those earning up to $87,000 eligible for a payment along a sliding scale.
  14. Quote from Dr. B to a teacher that called in to ask her a question for some advice directly; Quinn: Dr Henry, I've got a question here for someone who tweeted me and she writes 'Please ask Dr. Henry, how would she protect herself if she was a teacher? Would you still work one-on-one with a child? Would you stay distanced at all times? Henry: Well I'm not a teacher, although I have teachers in my family and I think you need to understand your own risk, and there are things that we can do in the classroom setting and yes, there are ways to safely have that one-on-one contact with the child, but teachers know how best to do that in their classrooms. Quinn: But we have a teacher seeking advice here asking what to do. Henry: They should be seeking advice from their teaching collegues who understand the situation. We put in the health basics and [at] each school there's principals, there's teachers, who are there to support their community. Pretty BS response imho.
  15. Well I have never been to Chicago so seems unlikely Thanks for watching
  16. I suppose that was a bit of a harsh term. I am not sure what he is trying to accomplish though, causing people to not believe the statistics and/or their anecdotal tests. I appreciate the skepticism, but is he correct in thinking that something "bogus" or "fake" is going on?
  17. Elon pumping conspiracies.. surprised his tweets are not being flagged for "claim disputed" I am a little confused with what he is getting at here though with the cycles..
  18. In case anyone missed his onboarding interview.. I'm going to have another listen.. how you can not like the guy; Stech/Tanev were great people but I am not going to cry over spilled milk when we already cleaned it up and it looks fine
  19. Very nice Highlight real I must say. I forgot how often he was on PP2 with Myers there and scored a few from his passes. I hope Myers gets Jake on the kelowna mobility and cardio routine.. Glad we resigned him for another 2 seasons.
  20. ‘Tighter control’ sounds like complete domination and submission by now, under one system one country Wonder if this has had, or will have, a big effect on HK being the financial hub of the region for global players?
  21. I am a bit surprised that Horvat is not on the list. Or any other Canuck unless I am blind ? I guess we roll all the lines more evenly
  22. Stupid corporations... don't you know your customers ? this might even turn me off of going to whole foods for the nice condo size christmas trees they sell..
  23. I see this fellow at the local community center near by place. he is also in the BCHHF and Coquitlam Sports HOF Ernie “Punch” McLean, coached 16 seasons in the WHL with New Westminster and Estevan Bruins. After the 1970/71 season, McLean and his partner Bill Shinske, moved the Bruins from Saskatchewan to New Westminster. He was Coach of the Year in 1975 and was the recipient of the WHL Governors Award in 2004. https://bchhf.com/portfolio-items/ernie-punch-mclean/
  24. I wasn't sure where to throw this, but I went to highschool with this fellow that was killed by friendly fire in a training drill a few days. what a crappy way to go. RIP James. https://globalnews.ca/news/7435621/cpl-james-choi-fatal-incident-alberta-b-c/ B.C.’s Cpl. James Choi ID’d as victim of fatal live-fire training incident at Alberta base
