  1. Big shoes to fill here with that type of contract. I think and hope he can exceed those expectations thought at least in the mid-point of that contract
  2. well put, and so unfortunate.... such passionate fans the whitecaps have in the Southside section every game I go to is full of energy people standing
  3. I don't intend to defend his policies but do find his perspective interesting as well He discussed the cost of his UBI idea during the Joe Rogan interview, pegged it at around 3 trillion but notes that there is already 1.5 trillion being given out in welfare programs, food stamps, etc.. (ie: for those people who are receiving like $700 already will only get $300 more) so the actual UBI cost he claims is around 1.5 trillion which he believes will be reduced further in the long-term through less crime out of desperation and a few other reasons I can't recall. I don't think $1000 is enough to live off of anyway in most states and I am not sure if those working full-time would still qualify to receive it..
  4. I am most proud of our historical drafting record producing high high character individuals that stick with the organization long after they retire. Team loyalty. I am also proud of our provincial fanbase unwavering commitment to the team and enthusiasm even though geographically they are very far away I am least proud of our constantly negative toxic media
  5. in case any one else is desperate for some Petey summer content... here is a short clip trying out some new 'profile' or skate edges Nice to see him do an interview in his native language too with subtitles for us English folk. although i am sure he is practicing his english very hard so he has the right words to put the dumb reporters in their place again next year
  6. you are probably right he won't last long. I am not sure if he identifies as a centrist but he claims to be a big numbers/data guy. his universal basic income stance seems very socialist leaning but I think he also views thing from a business perspective being a serial entrepreneur. He views the rise in technology as the next industrial revolution which is hard to argue against with the widespread hope for automation of jobs I just read this article which provides some backstory; https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/04/andrew-yang-technocrat-not-politician/
  7. I am almost certain that Bo Horvat will be named captain. I cannot see it any other way and from my perspective the players can't either.
  8. Biden taking a lot of heat for this comment... slip of the tognue ? interprets as white kids cannot be poor kids too lol
  9. I'm glad Andrew Yang made it I find him the most refreshing to listen to
  10. Is the Penticton young stars tourny done for good? I must have missed that. Always wanted to attend as im regularly in nearby Osoyoos wouldve been convenient.. shame
  11. I picked old school Vancouver because I am more optimistic about our teams’ long term goal of remaining competitive. Having prospects punching above their weight on an ELC is a huge asset for increasing team depth. I am confident JBs will find a few gems in the draft that will provide a cheap boost once our core group is set in stone and rolling with chemistry. We are slowly beginning to see his later draft picks develop now its been a while. Toronto has paid heavily for their star players (mostly deserved) which I cannot criticize them as I would have loved Tavares for what they signed him for. Nylander is a bad deal and Marner while highly talented is prob going to get paid too much imo. I dont follow Toronto much but it seems impossible to beat the character we have on this team they really appear to want to leave it all on the ice for each other which is a crucial mentality to have for any team sport. Getting a bit off topic now... screw the Leafs
  12. No doubt.... Loui is the last thing on my mind at this point. If he goes he goes, if he stays he must perform better than others. all there is to it really. I wish we had access to some more player summer training videos though, even just mini clips, to add to the hype
  13. I still haven't gotten over Cody for Zack in its day that was a crazy trade haha but hindsight deems it correct
  14. I think those types of performance questions can be settled once we get closer to camp and early in the season when we see what sort of shape everyone brings themselves in
  15. Love Greener's honestly and blunt style. The hype is real around canucks nation for this season!! New players coming in, highly touted prospects taking the next steps... October hurry up. time to take the next step and battle in the playoffs
  16. Considering that map has the millenium line going all the way to ubc, it seems like a future concept lol the skytrain definitely doesnt go to langley yet
  17. I am very bias but Coquitlam is really the best of both worlds I have lived here forever, although it is very competitive to buy anything half decent. Asians and persians are taking over and are loaded. My 20 year old 2 bedroom condo goes for around 500K or rents for 1500. it gets significantly cheaper in Pitt Meadows which has the westcoast express train to dowtown but no skytrain to live a decent bachelor life i think an annual income over $70k is Ok, not extravagant for sure and dont even get me started on saving for retirement lol so difficult
  18. Didn't he just recently sign a super lucrative contract... sheesh. easy money.
  19. The big providers all have great coverage but are expensive af The small providers (usually owned by the big guys) have terrible coverage but are cheap af Best bet is to scope out a big promotion being held by the big providers to get a solid plan.. persistence is key
  20. Roulette is my favorite casino game... hedging bets by playing on the outside and inside has treated me well in the rare occasions I partake I wouldn't mind trying some sports betting for fun, any website recommendations ?
  21. Exactly.... how often does Bo post workout videos ? Are we worried about his off season training ? I am not in the least lol The ball is in Jake's court this off-season edit;; for curiosity sake I wouldn't mind seeing a shirtless frontal of Jake.. I know he has tree trunks for legs and shoulders but we don't see much of his core/abs
  22. Elite 3rd liner in his prime. I appreciated his work ethic during his time here - similar to a Ryan Johnson personality I would think which is great.
  23. Haha I was going to post the same how much longer can it get?
  24. Bring back the Tree!!! ( I hope he doesnt mind that nickname.. hes a hella strong tree) I wouldn't mind waiting until the new year when the dusts settles though
