  1. No to Matt Dumba. Rather have the cap space then him.
  2. Having watched the preseason games I agree it was the right call to remove it. Looks a little less busy and the vertical stripes do jar against the horizontal in my opinion.
  3. I had NHL Live / Center Ice and now its not available in Canada. Looks like my only option is to go with SN Now.
  4. This kind of thing happens every single year at this time. Nothing surprising here. I also wouldn't be surprised if practically every team in the top 10 says the same thing. Problem is nobody moves them (except the Canucks), because the price is stupid high. In short, nothing to bother getting excited about.
  5. Yes very much. Complete 180 from what was happening for the first 22 games. First time in my 30+ years of fandom I was thinking of turning in my fan card I was so depressed. Sidebar, they need to back to those skate jerseys full time.
  6. I said it before the season started that switching to 21 was a terrible move. That number is forever cursed for the Canucks and needs to be exiled.
  7. A+: The goalies, Hughes A: The new coach, Miller B+: Motte, Schenn B: Garland, Myers, Burroughs C+: Horvat, OEL (would be higher if his offence was there), Highmore C: Boeser, Petterson, Podkolzin, Hoglander, Pearson, Poolman, Lammiko, Hunt F: Dickinson, Chiasson, N/R: Dowling, Hamonic, Rathbone
  8. The return better be good or no. He is one of my favorites on the team and its been a while since had a bottom six guy as good as him. Highmore and Motte together are wreaking havoc on the forecheck. People are right though, it does depend on what he is asking for to extend him.
  9. Sure...I guess...but we don't know how much we are mitigating it by being vaccinated. You could say it boils down to personal comfort level maybe. I am vaccinated and just got over it. Ya it wasn't fun for about 5-6 days, but I got better. I have no idea if I got it from a vaccinated individual or not and I really don't care. I have natural immunity on top of the vaccines and that's more desirable for me than taking what I think is an unnecessary booster.
  10. Okay I get it...but don't be hypocritical. You should also cut off all the vaccinated people in your life my friend. At least then I will respect you for sticking to your scruples.
  11. Why don't you want them around you? Again...a vaccinated individual can pass it along to you. Have you segregated yourself off from everyone entirely knowing that? Personally, I don't care what your vaccination status is.
  12. More pro-vaccine dogma. There is so, it's called common sense and educating yourself to protect yourself from those things. So my point stands.
  13. Lack of confidence and overthinking things. Not playing on instinct or hunger.
  14. That's not logical. The chances of someone who spends a lifetime consuming fast food/processed food/sugar of developing a deadly disease is significantly higher than someone who does not do those things. Should that category of person stay away from a hospital when they develop a serious disease as a result?
  15. I said earlier if you are older or at risk you should probably get vaccinated. The mortality rate is significantly higher for those 65+. And according to the CDC that 1% held even during 2020 before the vaccines were available and so far remains virtually unchanged in 2021 (these are general population numbers which I reviewed just a couple days ago on their site). https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#datatracker-home Forgive me, but what would you propose as the solution then? Lockdowns forever (what about the rise in suicides across the globe, its not insignificant)? Masks forever (even though many studies are split on the topic, with some of the most well done ones showing they don't really work)? Asking others to vaccinate when its still possible that the vaccinated can pass it to you is just beating a dead horse at this point. The vaccine has proven to NOT be the way out of this pandemic. It only reduces the risk of severity. I am not trying to be confrontational my friend, but genuinely would like to know what you would propose. To me it seems like what we are doing is not working. Meanwhile I look at Japan that has not enforced vaccines, even going to great lengths to ask its citizens to not discriminate against the unvaccinated (though a large part of the population has gotten it), and employs other methods to treat the disease (allowing doctors to use Ivermectin and other methods), and is doing far better than us or the USA.
  16. Well said. You sir, are enjoyable to dialogue with.
  17. First let me express my condolences. That is terrible and I am sorry to hear it. With respect its not completely incorrect, and you can find numerous sources to back it up. Your colleague was an outlier, not the norm, and I say that from a statistical standpoint though I know that comes across as insensitive. Yes lots of examples...because we are hyper focusing on the small percentage of the population that dies from this. Again...big picture. I get that this is complicated. I have consumed dozens of hours of content listening to both sides of the argument. I feel very informed thanks.
  18. You're right, they are not transmissible What do you propose though since we know the vaccinated can spread this thing as well? The cold hard truth to me is that 99% of those who get it survive and the antivaxxers (again I am vaccinated) have the right to bring that up. Doesn't matter how redneck or uneducated they are, you can't change that number unless a new variant comes along and decides to be deadlier. That is a statistic overwhelmingly in their favor. If someone is of relative good health, sees that number and says "I'm willing to take my chances vs injecting a drug that has had no long term studies" are you seriously going to look them in the eye and call them all sorts of distasteful names?
  19. You're right. Breath through cases are significantly less with Delta and the other variants compared to Omicron. Here's the rub for me though...the average person still has a 99% of getting sick and then getting better even with delta. For me its about risk assessment. Delta is still not risky enough to warrant all this. I want to reiterate...if you are in that category of vulnerable person (65+, overweight, diabetic, eat garbage, don't exercise) you should seriously consider getting the vaccine. Forcing it on friends of mine who are 40 or less, exercise, eat mindfully etc. is unwarranted and I feel like its splitting society. Thank you for the respectful rebuttal. I appreciate the dialogue.
  20. I can't read that article, but you are correct I believe. I wrote too hastily. That said, its still obvious at this point that being vaccinated doesn't stop the spread. That's the point I meant to get across. The only thing the vaccines are good for at this point is reducing severity of symptoms.
  21. I am minimizing the amount of deaths because 99% survive. By that number MOST healthy people survive but you are choosing to microfocus on the few who have died and are generally exceptions. Even the director of the CDC just stated that 75% of the people who die of Covid had 4 or more comorbidities. https://gazette.com/coronavirus/cdc-director-says-study-of-vaccinated-people-show-75-of-covid-19-deaths-had-4/article_2c944302-7267-11ec-91c9-a3689650d909.html Perhaps we should focus on vaccinating the ones who are actually at real risk instead of dictating that everyone should take the jab. Those elite athletes you mentioned are all still alive. They got sick, yes, but they lived. You should focus on that. Shut the back door dude.
