  1. While I think Green may get another shot at a head coaching gig in the NHL, I don’t think he’s still the once sought after commodity that he once was. He’s proven to have been lacking as a strategist and tends to clamp down on allowing skilled players, in effect, stifling their ability. Was he a cancer in the room? No, that’s just what people say when they really have no idea and just want to lay all the blame at one person’s feet. The amount of times I’ve read “cancer in the room” on these boards where it’s nowhere near applicable, I could fill the Grand Canyon with.
  2. For sure. He’s a talent, that being said, he’s put himself in a predicament with his extracurricular activities. I hope he finds his way out of it, not only for his sake but for his kid’s sake too. What I do find funny are the people who would stop being a fan of Kane became a Canuck. I mean, how weak is your dedication to your team, if all it takes is one player to destroy it.
  3. That does make sense. I am curious if when teams are sniffing around at the potential of trading for Evander, if they're making it known that they want him to put his past behind him and not bring baggage from previous situations with him to new ones. He looks to be making some strides based on what I've seen with the Barracudas. He has loads of talent, but I believe he's got a lot of conflict within him. There's a part of him that's buoyed by arrogance and a complete lack of humility which is hard to deal with at the best of times. I do know that he has another far more thoughtful and conscientious side to him that I've seen in person. I live in South Hill (the area in Vancouver bordered by Main and Fraser) and saw Kane park outside of the Buy Low on 45th Ave, get out with a pizza and bottle of orange juice for a homeless fellow that frequented the area. No one was there to see it. Kane dropped the stuff off, shook the man's hand and drove away. No fanfare. He's also bought ice time at Richmond Ice Center anonymously for teams. He's been seduced by the lifestyle heavily and it's showing based on a plethora of poor decisions he's made. One would have to think that he's aware of how tenuous a balance his career resides on these days. He has it within his grasp to salvage it, but time is of the essence. Totally. I can't see Rutherford, in the event that he saw trading for Kane as an option, not making it clear to Kane, either directly or through his agent, that his past is a concern and that there would expectations that Kane not allow it to follow him home. It was widely reported that Kane was interested in coming to Vancouver since San Jose made it known that they intend to trade him.
  4. Are Horvat, Miller, and Boeser of such weak character that the inclusion of one player would make them leave? I highly doubt it. Because those teams are more capable of adding a potential locker room cancer? Or because the star players (captains) can handle someone like Kane?
  5. Taller, yes, but that's not all that's taken into account when considering a player's size. Miller is listed at 6'1" 217 lbs, while Jesperi is at 6'2" (a stunning whole inch taller), and 201 lbs. Overall Miller is the larger player, and definitely plays that way. You realize that, right?
  6. In the end, the goal should be hiring the best and most competent staff you can to achieve the ultimate goal of the Canucks hoisting the Stanley Cup. I think Rutherford's experience will make that happen.
  7. Great insight. Calling a young player a clown for no apparent reason.
  8. This makes no sense. Once his contract is over, he can choose to stay in Russia or return to the NHL.
  9. Those who write him off as useless are woefully mistaken and thankfully aren’t running a team. He possesses a lot of talent for a big man.
  10. Maybe now that Benning is gone, and a far more respected and competent general manager in Rutherford is here, Tryamkin will give it another shot.
  11. Janower is a class act. The only interviewer that actually greets Bruce and wishes him a Merry Christmas.
  12. Considering that he's 6'8 and 255 pounds, he skates extremely well for someone that size.
  13. Credit to Benning for drafting them, but I feel far more confident in Rutherford building a team around them, Horvat, Hughes, and Pettersson.
  14. Boeser's shot looks fast, even in slo-mo. Why would anyone want to trade this guy? Glad to hear that Rutherford sees it as a priority to re-sign him.
  15. Boudreau demanding accountability. Thank goodness. It shows in how everyone has played. They know their roles and have faith that the coach knows what he's doing.
  16. Some one. Motte is probably the most overrated player in modern Canucks history.
