Oh, there's definitely a portion of the fanbase that are assclowns who are reactive chuckleheads with little to no concept of the game nor the ability to play it. I fully agree there. To me, they're the detritus that one has to sift through sometimes. Not worth much more than a cursory glance. The folks who mindlessly bash players without context aren't worth your time. They provide nothing that can be reasoned or negotiated with. I've watched Caddyshack and know the perils of ignoring things floating around a pool.

Who's the "we" you're referring to here? I've rarely overhyped and prospect and have rarely crucified them when they've not completely panned out. I've never put a cent of money or a second of time into any banners flying around the city, nor into a jersey that was thrown onto the ice. There was a very specific group of people that organized the banner, and only individual who threw their jersey on the ice. Taking those two actions and applying them to an entire fanbase is just lazy. Same with applying that the entire fanbase is toxic because of what a percentage write on an online forum. If you want a toxic online experience, open YouTube and check out some of the comments sections on various videos. Or better yet, go on Twitter. It's a simplistic approach to generalize a whole group of people on the actions of individuals. Very commonplace these days, mind you.

[Report] Jason Spezza suspended 6 games

While Spezza did deserve a suspension for the knee, 6 games is a bit of an overreaction. If the useless zebras had done their job initially, this would have never happened. How does a vet with a squeaky clean record like Spezza get 6 games, and a scumbag like Marchand only get 3. The DoPS is so random and inconsistent, it's beyond words. -

What troglodyte was making excuses for Green? -
I've felt this way for a while. It seems as though BC's been run by inept and underqualified morons at essentially every level for far too long. Probably one of the most poorly run provinces in the country.

Exactly. The defense has been hard to read due to coaching. Baumgartner was a very substandard coach at the best of times. He was in way over his head, and had no idea how to utilize the players at his disposal. Shaw's influence was evident from puck drop last night. They played a lot tighter, and used their size on the Kings. There was a lot more structure at play and it showed. I'd still like to see some augmentations to the defense, but the smart move as you and I have both alluded to, is to see how the d-corps plays under a competent coaching staff which the Canucks are now running with. Thank friggin Gord! -

They line juggled because they ran out of ideas. It became hilarious to watch. I like what Myers brings, but it's his consistency that needs to be worked on. -

Exactly. He lacks consistency. Maybe Shaw at the helm will bring that out more in the d-corps. As well, once the team has a handle on what the defense looks like under an actual defensive coach like Shaw, who the team moves forward with and who they move out will become clearer. -

Myers, while not a stone cold pugilist like Lucic, Gudbranson or Reaves, can hold his own, primarily because of his size. Think back to the game against Edmonton where he destroyed Keith and immediately took on an Oilers player handily. He may not do it often, and doesn't really stack up against the aforementioned players, but he's no shrinking wallflower. Marchand should be dealt with tomorrow. -

A team that's struggling (much like the Canucks) who possess solid defense may be worth looking at to see if an impact forward can be trade for an impact defenseman. I don't think that's the case completely. I think Canucks fans have grown used to seeing the former GM overpay for middling talent, including adding draft picks unnecessarily to trades. Certainly Myers and Hamonic are somewhat overpaid, but I think the length of their contracts may be what's harder to swallow, making them harder to move, although for a team in a playoff spot looking to round out their roster, these players could prove to be valuable. I think that the Canucks will eventually make a significant trade to address the defense. Waiting for a few years for the defense to be improved through drafting isn't going to work here. I don't think it'll be a rash move. mind you. I just think there are a lot of players on this team that want to contend, and have that capability, but have been mired in a somewhat caustic atmosphere. With Boudreau running the bench, and Shaw running the defense, the team will fare better. -

Myers, Hamonic, and Schenn are all good to go when it comes to physical play. There's no one on Boston's roster that can answer the bell. The 2011 Bruins were probably one of the most intimidating teams in recent history, purely based on size and aggression. Now? The Bruins are easily handled if the top line is contained. -
Whomever stated that "white" people have destroyed the planet is a waste of space and not worth listening to at all. That kind of divisive and poorly informed thinking is so prevalent these days, and sadly is all over major media outlets as well. Numerous countries, many that don't have predominant Caucasian populations, release pollution into the atmosphere, with China taking first prize. Does that mean all Chinese people are evil litterers? Only in the undeveloped mind of some idiot who would rather point fingers based on the flavor of the day instead of actually understanding that humanity in general are the problem and not merely one subsection of homo homo sapien.
