Long term, certainly. However, when one of those injured is a great power play producer signed to a three year deal and melding with his friend Elias, you have to make them pay in taking a beating. There was no need for Tierney to come so far and drive right into Boeser’s back. The danger inherent in Tierney’s charging and boarding of Brock into the glass, no less, was absolute. I’m hoping Ferland comes back pissed as hell and ready to take payment in face. -

Tierney approached Boeser and hit him square in the numbers knowing that would send him headfirst into the boards. That’s not a hit players make all the time. At all. Tierney wasn’t fishing for the puck or hounding Boeser. He skated, and accelerated into Brock. It was reckless, dangerous, and stupid. -

The Blues are a big team. -
By the way, to prevent any further personal harassment , when one types three or more periods after a statement, it means that they are being sarcastic or mocking the statement made.
-
Fair enough. So do I. It’s bs. A cheap shot to the numbers. Hopefully Ferland rearranges his face.
-
I can only answer for myself but when Gudbranson hit Vatrano in the numbers, he had a suspension coming.
-
If you had anything resembling a brain, you’d notice the three periods after the statement, genius. And if you bothered to read other comments before typing out your stupid one you’d see that I didn’t agree with the hit either.

Some of you need to brush up on what ellipses are......

The team won't become a playoff juggernaut if various star players are nursing injuries or recovering from injuries that are caused by another team's player taking liberties. The get them on the scoreboard attitude is great, but it doesn't address the reputational issue. If teams watch tape and see the Canucks not reacting in kind to their stars being run, and the league doesn't step in adequately, those teams will use whatever they can to get ahead in the standings. Not sure why the response is the same, but hopefully this changes. -

If the team wants to be taken seriously, they’ll make a statement. -

I’m going to reserve judgement until the game. Personally I want to see the Canucks hit the Senators with everything they have. Send Chabot out of the game. Crack a couple of Tierney’s ribs. Green has to realize that if he forgoes a retaliatory response, the message that’s sent is permissive and injuries affect the team’s capability to make the playoffs, which will affect his employment. -

The hit was still into the boards and square in the numbers. I think Green doesn’t like coming across as a whiner, and does his best to downplay such incidents. A greater barometer of the situation will be when the teams meet again. How the team comes out and engages the Senators will be telling. -

This is ridiculous. The Derangement of Player Safety says nothing about it either. Tierney should sit out as long as Brock has to. Hopefully Green was just internalizing his rage and will be coaching the next game to set the tone. He has players like Miller, Benn, Virtanen, Ferland, Myers, Edler, and Beagle who have the capability to hit to hurt. If Ottawa goes on the PP, target Chabot and give him some time in the quiet room. Make sure when they hit Tierney into the boards to give him a groin tweak that'll stay around for a couple of days. I will say that, for once, Patterson and the like were asking the right questions.
