Very true. Byfuglien and Trouba are very, very good defensemen, whom I would love to see on the Canucks roster.
-
I hate to be all smug, but the Canucks are looking pretty good comparatively.
-
I love how the score is stuck to his helmet.

The defense has three glaring holes all on the right side. Byfuglien being the biggest (both literally and figuratively). He could dominate a game in a way very few defensemen can. Couple that with Myers coming here, and Trouba going to NY, and the defense is decimated. That'll be a hard one to come back from, unless the proposed trades you've suggested yield a clear-cut top four defenseman. Scheifele should be considered an untouchable in my opinion. I agree.

Hutton was signed by LA.

To help those communities suffering poor standards of drinking water? I agree. Many have stated that the government is moving far too slow on the issue. I do agree that the various nations across the country should band together, but as in any society, there exists a power struggle. I've heard from people in a few nations whose reservations are situated in the Lower Mainland, that they experience similar issues with the dissemination of federal funding. Those at the top benefit first. I personally don't buy into the white privilege narrative, as I've had to work hard for everything I have. That being said, I've not experienced being singled out by police based on prejudice. I still wouldn't claim that that is white privilege though. I would say it has more to do with someone in a position of power being a bigot and not understanding the basics of anthropology and human origins. I've not heard much about male privilege. That being said, when I walk my dog at night, I don't feel exceptionally vulnerable or threatened. Quite a few women I know very much do.

It was good while it lasted Bailey. -
Exactly. There's no way to excuse that.

What are you talking about? What do first nations receiving money from the federal government have to do with what I was saying? Your point stands in your head only. I don't think people are being oppressed as we speak in Canada, but I do believe there are areas in Canada that are suffering due to the lack of safe drinking water. While that's not oppression, it is a very serious crisis that is threatening the health of the people in those communities. Did someone ask you to?

That's as intentional as it gets.

The girls were overheard referring to him as Quinn Huge.

It is the lack of real life experience and the conflation of their self-worth and ego by their parents as well. Being told repeatedly that "you're special" and never being disciplined when you do something wrong as a child has adverse effects as one gets older. There's also a belief that because this generation hasn't experienced a central conflict that's tangible, many of those in the generation manufacture ones instead.

Gen z is supposedly children aging from 2 to 19, according to my "research", so I don't personally think that they're all that judgey. I think it's the millennials and X who are the most self righteous, as many of them are already in university. They've clearly been extremely overexposed to social media and all of it's emptiness. My sons are all within that age range and are very curious about all sorts of things, and ask questions based more so on that than an ideology. They ask questions, and I try to give them as well rounded information as possible. When I first read the post, I thought you wanted to bet me a coke high. Hahahaha!

The Jets may have to deal with the fact that they aren't contending anymore. No need to weaken the Canucks future to help out a team whose GM made some poor choices. I'd rather the Canucks hold on to the aforementioned players and have them help the team.
-
I'd say the millennials are far more rigid than gen Z, and that gen X is equally self-righteous. To me, these folks seemingly need to assume some sort of control over the world around them, when in actual fact, they have very little control. The societal poison that social media is gives everyone their own personal soapbox where they can postulate and present the impervious and perfect version of themselves for others to learn from. You'd be hard pressed to get many to admit to screwing up in life. As previously mentioned, social media for many is essential to who they are, and pathetically part of what defines them. They wouldn't dare let anyone see anything but their spotless soul. Trudeau is part of the self-righteous crowd, as well. His posturing is nauseating at times, but he's also kept the economy steady during a tumultuous time. Of all the choices to make politically this fall, he's still the front runner to run the country, when all things (not just the sensationalistic) are concerned.

The way the majority of them act, you'd think they were still in diapers. Totally. For those who have suffered under actual discrimination and have been openly mocked about their appearance, I understand how these pictures could legitimately trigger them, but I'm thinking that the average Canadian, of whom Sunny Khurana is one, doesn't see this as the huge scandal that so many would like this to be. It could be construed as insensitive and tone deaf to the political climate, but I don't think the intent was to mock a particular race. It has been, and I don't think it's over.
-
"I don't recall anybody saying anything negative about it. I don't think the intention was to hurt anybody," said Khurana, owner of Guru Bazaar, a sari and fabric store in Surrey, B.C. Sunny makes sense here. Clearly Western society has become so (expletive deleted) fragile that these pictures of Trudeau have cause inner turmoil and torment for the triggered masses, but for people like Sunny Khurana, who are capable of seeing things clearly and for what they are, it's not a big deal.
