I disagree. The internet is a place where people (CDC being a prime example), can create personas and debate endlessly over subjects that interest them. Sure, everything is potentially open to being examined and criticized, although I'm pretty sure no one is making any comments on Loui's family, outside of the fact that he has a large family and that they've moved. You defend him every single day against even the most mild criticism. You're bordering on obsessed. You give proof that people are becoming far too sensitive these days. Do you think that they were constantly listening to sports radio when they lived here? Probably not. I don't think they were experiencing any negative issues from anyone in the city. You conflate these situations to try to build an argument and frankly, it doesn't work. Keep trying though. Again, with the overreaction to essentially a non story.

I think you're onto something with Edmonton. -
Most likely. What they're telling the news outlets is really only a fraction of what they're actually doing. Why do people think that they're advertising their every move? Certainly the military has pulled out of the area but that doesn't mean that every serviceperson has. There could very well be a highly trained skeletal team that has stayed in the area, who are continuing to look.

Pass what buck? Are you talking about the newscaster? Note that her assertions/assumptions are coming from her personal Twitter account. She's free to make any statement she wants there, and people are free to ignore it as her assumption on the issue. People living in the areas where the two have been seen shouldn't be taking her word anywhere near serious. If I lived in one of the areas mentioned, I'd be locking my doors, keeping any weapons close by and being extremely vigilant with pretty much everything I did until I received word from actual authorities of the all clear. Huh?

Because of the suggestion/assumption of a newscaster on Twitter? I think it's an assumption on the part of the newscaster, but if people in Manitoba stop being vigilant because of the words of a newscaster who lives nowhere remotely near their area, they have no one but themselves to blame. Now, if the news station reported it to be fact, or the RCMP or military made an announcement declaring that the two fugitives were dead, that would be irresponsible.

[Report] Eriksson “NOT” likely to be moved on
PhillipBlunt replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I'm thinking that spook was referring to what Eriksson had already done this past Christmas and not what his place on the team would be going forward. -
They could have went into the dense and unforgiving wilderness of northern Manitoba and ran into one of the many predatory animals there, and are now partially in the stomachs of those animals with the unconsumed remains hidden for consumption later.

[Report] Eriksson “NOT” likely to be moved on
PhillipBlunt replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Not really. It just seems familiar in the sense that now that he sees the lay of the land with the direction Green is taking the team in, and the influx of new and better players, he might not be willing to accept his diminishing role. I don't think so. If he's traded to a team that can utilize him higher up in the lineup, those still intact skills can come in handy. Because he can still play. I wouldn't classify him as a cancer though. That term gets used way too often on these forums. In my opinion, a locker room cancer is someone who undermines the team actively by playing teammates against each other, and attempts to spread their discourse. I can't see Loui being the type who would go into the locker room and try to muster up support for himself over the team. -

To me, it doesn't look like he's invested consistently. He had points last season where he did have a multi-point game, so his ability is still clearly there. I think it's a similar situation to Radim Vrbata. They both signed solid contracts as older players that many perceived as overpayment. They may have signed those contracts with the idea that they would be playing with certain player (the Sedins), and when they were put onto different lines, and utilized in ways they maybe didn't see as ideal for them, their impetus to perform wavered. -

Sounds familiar to another former Canuck who went to Anaheim. The anger that people showed towards Kesler because of how he utilized is similar. I don't think Eriksson should accept a trade to anywhere he doesn't want to go to, especially considering how many kids he has. I mean, who wants to go to Edmonton? All that being said, I think Kesler, up until the last game he played for Vancouver, always played his ass off. Personally, I don't feel that Eriksson has. -
You should definitely do so. Great film. The kind that uses acting, atmosphere, environment, and tension to make something truly unsettling and frightening.

Witch hunt? Seriously? You seem to take comments made on an online sports forum way too seriously, and mistakenly believe that those comments will have any impact on how the situation will actually play out. Your complete exoneration of Eriksson, nay....sainthood of Eriksson, is so biased it makes it nearly impossible to have an objective conversation or debate with you about it. Is Loui Eriksson a scheming villainous monster of a player looking to purposely undermine the team to suit his own needs? Of course not. Is he a player that has played with everything he could muster, shift in and shift out, leaving it all out on the ice? Of course not. Was he upset about the minutes he was given by Travis Green? Sure Did he need to share that with an interviewer? Debatable, but in my opinion, it didn't really serve any purpose out of one that seemed self-serving. Did he move his family to Dallas because he sees a future with the Canucks? I don't think so. He bears responsibility in the situation as much as any other person involved. That is a fact.

Regardless of fan opinion, the above is really the facts of the matter. It was clearer towards the end of last season how the team played, and how it seemed (in my opinion) that Loui looked out of sync with that. The fact, which I don't believe has been disproven, that he moved his large family to Dallas this summer speaks volumes as to where Loui's intentions lie regarding his playing future. I, too, can't see any feasible way that it would make sense that he is in the starting lineup on opening night. -
Joe Biden Debates Donald Trump September 29

I was addicted to the original when it came out. As soon as I completed the game the first time around and got the invisibility cloak (bandana?), all I did was choke out every single enemy soldier for what seemed like three days. Good times. -

I don’t think that anyone is referring to Eriksson as a monster. He’s a player that hasn’t lived up to his contract, which seemed to be an indictment of most free agents signed the same year he was with Vancouver. I think (again only my opinion) he’s not played with enough urgency or effort to continue to earn a spot on the roster anymore. Benning clearly downplayed his comments because he’s completely informed on the situation, and to assuage Timrafan. -
Personally, I don’t see it. Players like Leivo and Motte play with noticeably more energy and effort than Loui. They both bring a physical game which is nonexistent with Eriksson. I don’t think he’ll be here come training camp. With all the changes to the roster, having Eriksson back would be disruptive.
