  1. Shannon would give Edler an NMC? What an idiot. No wonder he's not working in the league as a GM.
  2. Edler is probably re-signing, as per the rumored updates coming from Friedman and others. He'd be the most likely player returning, especially after the solid season he had. Pouliot was never a top 4 player. Stecher and Hutton are far more complete defensemen than him.
  3. Ah....the Canuck Way. The bottom of the barrel for local sports blogging.
  4. The writers at the Canuck Way are, objectively speaking, absolutely braindead.
  5. While featuring a healthy dose of puck-movers, that defense would be slaughtered in the playoffs.
  6. St. Louis likes Brayden a lot, and Colorado likes Barrie. Sounds like a great idea, but the reality of what it would cost the Canucks is pretty steep.
  7. JD Burke is full of it, and always has been. Just another clickbait troll.
  8. Totally. Benning has already stated that he's in the market for defensemen this summer, so I didn't think I needed to reiterate the point.
  9. Solid post. Totally gloss over the fact that Benning will sign or trade for a defenseman or two.....
  10. For sure it's not. When I say imposing, I mean the full use of one's size to prevent a play, not just lining someone up for a hit. I've seen Myers play, and he doesn't seem to be that impressive of a defenseman to me. The price he'll demand, if not re-signed by Winnipeg, will be more than he's really worth.
  11. These next two weeks will really push the boundaries of what's realistic. Therefore I cannot comment at this time. I hate making proposals.
  12. Myers' size is a tad overrated in my mind. He's nowhere near as imposing as his height suggests.
  13. More Vancouver media personalities whining like babies on social media.
  14. Tanev has been quietly one of the best defensive defensemen in the league over the last decade. When he played on Team Canada, he drew the praise of McDavid, Gallagher, and Stone as the team's unsung hero. He could have used a d partner with a nasty side to help deter the beatings in the corner, but didn't get one. Those beatings definitely caught up with him though. At this stage in the team's transition though, moving players (even those as selfless as Tanev) can help to set up the future. Nothing against the guy, as he has been a Canuck through and through.
  15. I think Tanev is plenty appreciated within Vancouver.
  16. Moving Tanev is a good idea. At this point, get what you can for him, and move on. The guy is a solid defenseman but spends so much of each season being put back together again. As timberz21 has said, having Tanev on the defense corps means that there's a 75% chance that he'll go down and the depth will be tested again, like clockwork. Again, time to move on.
  17. That was then, this is now. At this point in the Canucks rebuild, trading for Subban would cost way too much, including one of the core players that need to remain untouchable.
  18. That's funny to you? One would think that the people running the mills could find a better way to deal with those compounds rather than being so inherently lazy and pathetic as to just pour it into the nearest body of water. Done during the nightshift....because they're gutless? And flower kissers...….that's telling. People who value the natural world and choose not to use it as a dumping ground for garbage are responsible people, not the pathetic types too lazy to properly deal with dangerous chemicals and poisons they cowardly pour into the largest river in BC. And the lifeforms that it kills along the way.....who cares about that, right?
