  1. He's on a crap team that's in flux and has way too many veterans who refuse to bring any sort of physical presence, outside of Edler. As long as the Sedins are the preeminent influence on this team, mediocrity will follow.
  2. He's going to have to commit to being a physical force to make up for his other shortcomings though, and I'm thinking Benning might mention that at some point.
  3. BREAKING: Eriksson still sucks
  4. Except that I don't think it was a joke initially, Cerridwen. He can brush it off now that he's seen the backlash, but based on watching it a few times, he seems dead serious.
  5. Neither do I. This team needs a captain that will take personal responsibility for the team's play and not throw other players under the bus like Luongo, or dress down rookies to the media like Henrik. Looking forward to Bo getting the C, hopefully next season. Please Gord in heaven above make it next season!
  6. I get it. He sold you a car that turned out to be a lemon. That's why you have this irrational hatred towards him.
  7. I think the same could be said of most of the team, outside of Bo and Brock. The mass fluctuations in effort and intensity have been an issue for this team for a few years now. I don't think that can be pegged on the young guys, rather the vets who proliferate it. Jake's 21 years old. Not every 21 year old player will blow the lid of the joint out of the gate. When Henrik commented on the Polak hit, I lost a huge amount of respect for him as a captain. You just don't dress down players on the team you're supposedly leading to the media. It's extremely bad form.
  8. Every time I read HockeyBuzz, I lose brain cells.

      No, yah weenie SabreFan1. :P

It's just the site creator, Eklund's lame ass predictions, and the morose freaks in the comments section. CDC is like Mensa compared to that dreck.

I get annoyed with the lack of proper editing on that site as much as anything.  When you get paid to do something professionally, you should take some pride in it.

I must be reading the wrong sections...

Guys, I know it isn't Canuck specific, but I need to recommend subscribing to The Athletic. Yeah, it's money, but you pay for the year and get quality material. Key word: quality. Mind you, I'm only 1 month in.

  9. Green believes in Jake. As does Benning. The kid will be fine. He's been hitting like a Mack truck lately, and his reverse slam on Kronwall is a highlight of the year already. He can skate and score and has shown the player he can be. This team could really use Jake to be consistent. He has the gifts.
  10. Forget the A, and go straight to the C.
  11. While Edler had been quite solid this season, it is still a good idea to move on from him and the Sedins. They should all be looking for another opportunity to compete for the big prize.
  12. Whoa is right. Hahahaha. Thanks for taking that outburst as it should have been taken WHL. Hahahaha
  13. I am right. Keep diving into the past to find worth to prop up your argument. Your excusing a Sedin for what Virtanen &^@#ed up on, is part and parcel as to why this team can't move forward. Maybe, instead of drowning yourself in nostalgia, look to the future and understand that rookie players make mistakes.
  14. Daniel Sedin dumped it in a blind pass on neutral ice as well. Way worse than Jake's gaffe.
  15. Excerpt from an interview Iain McIntyre had with Erik Gudbranson on Wednesday: “I want to be here; that’s the honest truth,” Gudbranson said Wednesday after practicing at Rogers Arena. “Free agency isn’t always what it seems. You’ve seen horror stories of guys who shouldn’t have gone in the first hour of July 1 and didn’t get a deal until the day before training camp. If I can avoid it, I think I will." “I still really haven’t had that conversation with my agents. I saw the tweet, what Jim said about me. That’s what I wanted. But we haven’t started working quite yet. Once we have those conversations, I think everything will be considered.” “I think this team is headed in the right direction,” Gudbranson said. “I saw pretty much the exact same thing in Florida. It took time. But that feeling when we made the playoffs my last year in Florida … it was special to me because we’d gone through the hard times. We really felt we were connected as a group because we’d gone through those tough times. That’s something that can be created here for sure. “And for me, strangely, that’s an exciting prospect.”
  16. Any word on Gagner's status? He was playing with some real fire yesterday. Sucks to see him get injured while playing his guts out. That being said, if he is injured for any length of time, I'd like to propose that Archibald get a call up.
  17. Hopefully he brings the same game he brought against Chicago. In fact, if the entire team brings the same physical edge to Tampa, I like their chances.
  18. Where did captainhorvat and his Jake hate go? The kid had a great game.
  19. I think also not having to shoulder the load of being the preeminent physical presence on the defense has been instrumental in him feeling that much more comfortable. It really shows.
  20. Thanks chon. I had a little taken off the top.
  21. He looked awesome last night. Just awesome
  22. Me too, Alf. As I said, Benning needs to be looking for players with some backbone in the offseason to sturdy up the corps which will allow the young guys to come into a safe working environment. Evander Kane would be a great add on the forward corps.
