What ever happened to wishing someone a simple HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

There is a good part of getting old.

  2. Once again, Murray is just pathetic looking to deflect blame for being a complete and total sieve. I wonder if his fellow Penguins were looking at those goals and laughing as he hung them out to dry.
  3. Erikkson is looking very comfortable lately. He's clearly in a rhythm now, which is awesome. Happy for the guy.
  4. They could both learn from Corey Crawford.
  5. Boeser is lucky that he scored there. It's hilarious that the puck got past such a tremendous goaltender like Matt Murray.
  6. Loui is looking a heck of a lot better than he was last year. Happy for the guy.
  7. I think your estimation is pretty solid. Hutton, while serviceable and a good winker, hasn't really done much to separate himself from the rest of the defense. I think trading Edler is of utmost importance at this stage in the season. He's back to being fairly inconsistent and sloppy, which for the most tenured d-man on the roster, isn't a good thing. Now is the time to let the new d-corp fall truly come to form, sloughing off the redundancies.
  8. No. Negative. Nada. Nein. Nyet. But it's not like I have a choice.....
  9. Very true. It seems that every d-partner of his has to compensate for him.
  10. I would hope that Edler is moved. While his presence is great for minutes and experience, he is the oldest defenseman and might still yield a decent return. His minutes could be easily absorbed and dispersed through the six defensemen, and his veteran experience is already supplanted by Del Zotto, Gudbranson, and Tanev. Physicality? Gudbranson and Del Zotto, to a lesser extent Pouliot and Stecher (ask Strome). Not sure if Edler is a stellar communicator, but based on comments from Stecher and Gudbranson, they appreciate his experience.
  11. Gudbranson was given the lion's share of minutes yesterday, which he handled extremely well. It looks like Green is ensuring a pretty even dispersion of minutes amongst the blueliners. It's great to see so many workhorses capable of taking on more minutes. Hell, even Hutton seems to be hitting a stride now.
  12. I'm just curious as to who will sit. It's a great problem to have, really.
  13. I agree on Biega, but would Pouliot come out for Stecher? I can't see Edler, Gudbranson, Del Zotto, or Tanev sitting. That leaves Hutton, Pouliot, and Stecher. Could a trade be forthcoming to deal with the logjam?
  14. So when Stecher and Tanev return, who the hell comes out?
  15. Pouliot isn't a shrinking violet when it comes to standing up for himself, so I'd say it was a clear win for Benning here.
  16. Pouliot is a capable and efficient puck mover, who skates well, and makes sharp crisp passes. He has skill on the powerplay, and plays a simple and effective game in his own end. As a bonus, he doesn't seem to be intimidated and readily stands his ground. All in all, a smart move by Benning. Interesting side note: Andrey Pedan has been suspended for three games for charging Jakob Zboril, who was injured due to the high hit.
  17. I don't understand what Greens MO is with Jake either. He'll learn with more icetime, and get better, especially if he isn't handcuffed by playing with the Sedins. Regarding the PP, it's a pathetic joke. Newell Brown should be fired ASAP for thinking that trotting out the same formations and predictable puck movement will help generate any different outcome. It's embarrassing that the powerplay has been this bad for this long, and still the Sedins are getting time on the man advantage while barely being able to keep the puck in the zone.
  18. I truly feel for Jake being handcuffed to the Sedin line for games on end and then being replaced by an underachieving Eriksson. So much for competition for spots.
  19. Lol? The greater leveller of modern day grammatical performance. Once again, Benning and Green possess actual experience in professional hockey which gives value to their opinion. You? Well you say lol.....well done, JD.
  20. I have a hunch that the poster in question is a member of Canucks Army, and takes umbrage with how many here view analytics.
  21. And I'll sit back and watch the ridiculously angry analtyics-only posters lose their $&!#.
  22. http://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/kuzma-canucks-see-value-in-erik-gudbranson-others-see-trade-bait/amp Great article by Ben Kuzma. I'll take the word of Benning, Green, and Gudbranson over whiny calculator junkies any day of the week.
