[GDT] Canucks vs Blues game 6. Canucks lead 3-2. 6:45pm!

I’m telling myself that it’s actually game number 2. Will make it much less stressful to watch -
Can't say I'm feeling as charitable as you regarding Perron but definitely agree about the Blues. Win or lose, this series has reinforced our squad with a blueprint for playoff success moving forward. Going toe to toe with the current champs and seeing the way they stick to their systems, playing as a 5 man unit with constant puck support and giving it their all every night is a crash course for our young guys in playoff 101.

You may be right. I've played since I was a kid and I'm 50+ now, but I never played even rep level hockey when I was younger so although I may be capable I don't consider myself to be good. Both Northlands and Rogers ice felt pretty similar to a beer leaguer like me, both were good and much better than the standard muni's we usually play in. The noticeable difference to me was the LED lighting in Rogers place- the lines and ice itself seemed to glow and it was amazingly easy to see and track the puck. Northlands used to have the rep as best ice back in the day but that may have had more to do with the guy who used to make the ice there (I think it was the guy who buried the loonie in Salt Lake for the Olympics?) but I'm not sure if he does the ice at Rogers.

I was never a Hull fan but I respect him for losing the C over that -
Well, that was some big boy hockey last night. No need to panic though, just need to figure out how best use our assets to break the Blues game plan. There were some promising signs in the third period, how much of that was due to Travis tweaking the lines or just the Blues sitting back I'm not sure. I don't think it's the Blues MO to sit back though so I'm leaning towards the former. The key to the remaining games will be breaking the Blues cycle in our end, especially the ROR line.

Its like a chess match watching the 2 different styles of play. The Canucks D are trying to get to the dump ins with speed to transition it quickly, which allows the Blues fore checkers to hit them hard and try to force turnovers. Our D have to be smarter in timing their retrievals so they don't get hurt and they need more support for short outlets. It looked like they were starting to adjust for it in the last half of the game after Schenn drilled a couple of guys but my heart is in my throat every time Troy and Quinn go back for a puck... A lot of credit to the Canucks play in their own end this series though, Blues have a lot of possession but the boys are doing a great job keeping it to the outside and are fearless with their shot blocks.
