  1. Zags up by one at the half. UCLA played a great half and still trail by one. Bad sign for them.
  2. Playing against ex-pros and ex-juniors is sobering. They sling passes all over the place without working up a sweat and I get a sore neck trying to respond to it all.
  3. Interesting to see Sweden not rushing themselves yet again. There's probably a lesson there somewhere.
  4. Ex-Canuck probably bet his buddies " ... hundred bucks says I can bank one in off the fat guy's ass."
  5. I think having a strong immune system is the very best asset we have, and for that reason I've never gotten a flu shot. I've thought about it a few times, but I always come back to preferring to refuse to risk altering my immune system. You might just have very, very good genes. That counts for a lot if you're one of the fortunate ones.
  6. I think the increased hand-washing is now a permanent thing with me. I'm a believer now (better late than never). I've watched two documentaries from doctors who say hand cleanliness is the BIGGEST factor during the pandemic. I'm on-board.
  7. Okay, but what has a mask mandate in buildings actually gotten us? I mean... here we ARE.
  8. I don't know, I'd say that's wishful thinking borne out of frustration.
  9. I saw that one a few days ago. It comes back to the "study could not definitely link the rising death rate to the new variant emerging." Might take a while to get verified data.
  10. Correct. Hands are a big thing. For the first time that I can remember, I have not been sick even one day in the last 12 months, and I took/take the warning seriously of washing hands frequently. I think the mask-wearing has been damaging because now I look around and see people are emboldened to carry on conversing from a foot or two away, blowing breathe out the sides of their masks. 6 feet and handwashing was working better, IMO.
  11. I think that is now guaranteed. It will be endemic. A new illness to deal with in it's evolving strains.
  12. Right. But the original strain was highly-communicative as well; there were many, many more cases than ever known ... the asymptomatic aspect was always the oddball factor. The variant has the feel that we are turning the clock back 13 months and returning to square one. Very frustrating, but we cannot hide from this thing.
  13. I recommend everbody tune into TSN at 5:00 as the mighty Gonzaga Bulldogs (the little college that could) attempt to punch their ticket to the NCAA final in Monday. It is Timme Time. Pounding beers and smoking things is optional.
  14. If it's a question of losing by double-digits every night or forfeiting every game, I'm firmly on the Forfeit Train.
  15. The good thing is that the players aren't around older people. They are still the main demographic to be protected.
  16. If I were a professional athlete, I wouldn't be anywhere hear a social media account. Far too much aggro ... and for what?
