  1. That particular offer? I've been out of the loop, and I heard he turned it down. If not, my bad.
  2. I'd be happy with 5 guys scoring 20 and a couple more scoring 15.
  3. 6 x 7 is helluva 'bridge' contract. Brock should be signing that.
  4. Canucks continue to improve, finish with about 85 points, but still miss playoffs. Horvath named captain for opening night. Pete if healthy gets 80-85 points. Demko establishes himself as a solid NHL goalie getting 30 starts. Myers has a solid but unspectacular season. Ferland has a solid season and threatens to score 20. Hughes shows lots of good things, but also has his share of struggles as he adapts to the demanding 82 game NHL schedule. Juolevi starts in Utica but gets some call-up games.
  5. It looks like that has a lot to do with this signing. If so, good for him.
  6. I think there are some guys who look ahead and think "how much money do I want in the bank when I'm 35 and ready to retire?" Then they figure out the best place for them to play and still fulfill that financial goal. The surplus dollars are less important for guys of this mindset.
  7. It's a good contract. Also, $6M doesn't buy what it used to. But this player/contract makes sense.
  8. I'd love to see it, but not holding my breath. He would be an incredible piece to re-add.
  9. Agreed. As good as he looks, at 5'10" Hughes won't be a viable top-2 guy. Top-4 and PP first unit .... which makes him a vital piece. But not a top pair.
  10. The extra real good part about this is that there should be no need to bring up Juolevi until he's legitimately ready and deserving of being here.
  11. That would be like getting a second Christmas in the same year.
  12. Waste of money. Too broken-down, too much money in the bank to care anymore.
  13. Naw, lumberjacks are at home in the woods. Hipsters don't like to be more than 20 paces away from a Starbucks.
  14. Myers, maybe Schenn, maybe Barrie someday. The Kelowna D factory is ours.
  15. I think it's more lumberjack than hipster ... which I approve of.
  16. Just saying that those were the expectations of him way back then.
  17. I think consensus is that Myers hasn't reached the level he was expected to since being drafted. Top 4 certainly, but will likely never be a top 2.
  18. Bombshell: I don't get on 100% with Loui either. Or even 5%.
  19. Sad news. Hard to think of young kids unexpectedly losing their father.
