I agree. With the current trend to get young guys into your lineup as quickly as they can handle it, a 24-year-old who hasn't cut it yet is pretty much a forgotten man. Patience in the NHL ain't what it used to be.
Sure, but this team is no contender either way. A hole on the second line for a year or two for a team that won't win anyway is kinda irrelevant. If Reinhart is the prize, then get him first and worry about lesser things afterwards.
There's no reason to re-sign him at all. The only spot that makes sense for him is 3C and I have to believe that spot will be Horvat's to lose. Schroeder, unfortunately, is a drafting fail.
The emergence of Desjardins here is kind of surprising. Rookie President, rookie GM, rookie head coach at 57 years old? All handling a very veteran team? Not your everyday formula for sure. I smell an old Medicine Hat connection.
I often dream of trading Edler and it's always a warm, happy, childlike dream. And the strange thing is....it never matters who we get in return, the dream is always good.
To clarify, the Aquilinis have given Trevor carte blanche and JB has Trevor's confidence. We're going to find out here pretty quick that making Trevor the point man for the new future was the pivotal move. And I'm fully convinced Benning is the correct hire. I think the choosing of the head coach will be a more divisive thing for Canuck fans.
They didn't even line up for handshakes did they? I think the ref broke up the 0:00 mess and waved everybody to the rooms, right? I'm foggy on that. I would have thought J.D. Watt would be involved. Everytime something brainless was going on, Watt was involved.
Why would he respect the leaders on our team? He seemingly can't respect the leaders on his own team. I'm sure a guy like Bergeron just shakes his head at the guy sometimes.
