  1. OEL should be sent to Abbortsford next season. Replaced by a 1M Schenn (or similar) and that would be an upgrade! Without being punished for 8 years (buyout). And if we’re lucky, OEL will give up and go home…
  2. Hmm... I'm worried... If he's so talented and was the "prize" of the trade, it's really concerning he only has one assist on that level of hockey. Doesn't feel good at all. Remember he played in the NHL and scored against us and now, in 6 games hasn't done jack sh*t... Does not bode well... PS why are a lot of you discussing everything else BUT Raty in this thread!?
  3. I'd prefer it if they made the red more orange... But happy to see the Skate back
  4. Soo… He sees himself as a Panther, and… his Jersey is retired there already. He also wanted out, without any (for me) good reasons (like Bure being mistreated by mgmt) and last, didn’t land the cup when we had the best team in the league. So no, it’s not enough for me to retire his jersey here. With that said, he was great for many years so the ring of honor is fine. If he looked upon himself as a Canuck first, I would reconsider. Shannon’s opinion reg only hall of famers is lame. Not every team has the players Edmonton had (and has in McDavid). So every team should do as they see best. For us, I didn’t want Naslund there either, due to never being good in the post season.
  5. Agreed... When they got in, they "assessed" the team for months and months... And then they: Extended Boeser to a ridiculous cap Extended Miller to a ridiculous cap Went out and fetched Mikheyev for a ridiculous cap All after stating that our defense wasn't good enough... As a result we've super capped out, and that's not the previous regime's fault, it's their own. If they traded Boeser for a second and Miller for a first, both trades would be considered "bad" (returns), and stayed away from Mikheyev, they would have had more picks and almost, what!? 15-16 m in cap to fix the defense in one or two off seasons.
  6. Unpopular opinion… but where is Petey when we face tough/better opponents!? (When eveybody blames Miller or Horvat for not hitting) He completely goes quiet… then turns up with 4-5 points against teams like the Ducks or Coyotes etc…
  7. Why not find a sponsor who would accept our colors and form!? All other ads I’ve seen, has looked way better than this. If TD would have approved only using the white TD it would look so much better (without the green square), or made the corners round. Or use the same green color as on our stripes… Anything but this. This is the first jersey this season where the ad actually stand out
  8. Is it just me, or were the commentators really fair and unbiased!? Off course they liked it when DAL scored, but they were really knowledgable and unbiased thru all penalty situations. I enjoyed them a lot
  9. You seem to view this quite differently than most of us in Europe. There are many reasons for banning Russian players, even though, in a nice world, they shouldn’t be punished as individuals due to what their country is doing. (And banning them does not equal kicking them out or doing bad things against them like forcing them to speak out). They can still chose to stay in NA or go home in peace) Is it fair that Ukraine athletes has to stop their careers for getting back and fight (even die) for their country, family and friends, freedom, while Russian athletes can continue their careers just like nothing has happened? Another even stronger argument is that Putin absolutely LOVES hockey, and so does many Russians. It’s their national sport and Ovi is a living legend! If the Russians were banned from playing, Putin would get a massive reaction from his countrymen! It’s one of the biggest leverages the west has and should be done now! All over Europe, athletes refuses to go up against Russian athletes in protest! (And please don’t compare this to “normal” workers. Banning them has no leverage at all.) But I guess North Americans doesn’t see this as it’s not close by!? Is it perhaps more important that their team wins? And the fake news that Ukraine has been aggressive towards the people in the two separatist cities is just BS, Russian propaganda, which every free European journalist can prove (and also UN observers). Never thought I’d see that BS in here. Makes me sad… I loved Hasek’s tweet. So true in so many ways. Now Putin threatens all European countries that supports Ukraine that they may see this as an act of war against Russia. The WW3 is getting closer by the hour. Just make it stop, please make it stop!
  10. THIS is Boeser’s contract year. We need to decide now! I’d trade him for a top 4 D-man. Especially since his contract is awful. 7,5 is NOT ok… (I’d only keep him if he signs long term for 5,5 or less.)
  11. Perhaps you should before forming an opinion!?
  12. Anyone stating that we could have won game seven in 94, if Linden didn´t play (due to the injury) has never watched the game itself. He was our best player in that game, not only for scoring the two goals, but for carrying the team with his heart and soul! A true captain through and through! PS the game is probably still available on YouTube, so just go watch it instead of racking up a ridiculous claim that we would be better of without him!
  13. Fire Benning? Even though he may deserve getting the can, it’s unlikely cause then Aquaman has to admit his faults. Also, a new GM can’t do much for our team this season, without also getting a new coach. Fire Green? Well, he may not fully deserve it, but since it clearly doesn’t work with him behind the bench, I’ll quote Princess Leia, please mr Obi Wan Benning, get us a new coach, it’s our only hope…
  14. We must be the only team not playing our best 6 players in the top 6. Remove Pearson NOW! Neither Boeser or Garland, not even Hogs, should spend time on the third line… Pearson is no longer a top 6!
  15. Greener has to stop with two things: - Using the blender. Set the two top lines and let them gel! (Have patience) - Using Pearson as a top six. He’s way better off as a gritty, speedy grinder on the third with potential offensive upside. I’d go with: Hogs - Petey - Boeser (Hogs plays with more energy than Miller) and then Miller - Horvat - Garland. Miller and Bo had chemistry the first year he arrived. Let them go for at least five, six games before starting the blender again. Oh, to answer the question: We’ve relied too much on the image of Green being a great coach. I don’t think he is, at least not yet. There’s no way our players are THIS bad…
  16. Donnie and Dhali, without a doubt! There’re funny and informative. Has great guests too. And they also don’t always agree with each other. Rink Wide is very repetitive and they are always in agreement which makes it a bit boring.
  17. Gotta love the Midget such a gem How about giving Miller and Boeser some energy by inserting Hogs on the flank with Millsy centrering the top line. Keep the Captain’s line. And try Podz and Dickinson flanking Pettersson on the third.
  18. To become one! Three really good lines are better than two. If you want to know how it could turn out having Miller on the third line, ask the Lightnings... One could also play Miller’s line as second, having Horvat at third.
  19. I loved Miller at the centre this passed season. But, yeah, they could easily switch... Either way, it would give us three really good lines. And I think by doing that, we’d get a really good fourth line too. Also, everyone is screaming for better D’s... but I believe with better forwards, we’d play more in the offensive zone which will make it easier on our D’s. Of course they will make mistakes when they’re playing the whole game in our end.
  20. IF... we would get SR... Why do you all keep Miller on the first line!? Clearly I’d rather do this: Hogs - Petey - Boeser Pearson - Bo - SR Motte - Miller - Podz That’s what I call a top 9!
  21. Agree... Ty will probably win it. A rookie d-man who can score AND apparently defend too...
  22. Makar > Hughes Van would love the trade while Col would hang up. Scoring many points isn’t everything. A D-man should be able to defend first, then score.
  23. I guess it’s now fair to say that Pettersson is not the star of our team... Miller obviously are. I was surprised by Miller’s excellence last year but thought that was much thanks to Petey. Now... I’m not so sure anymore. Petey looks lost out there without JT. I really hope Petey finds some new mojo because he’s been very silent. Especially in 10 (or 11!?) PP’s in a row now. But hey, let’s get back into it on Monday. And I sure hope Petey makes me look like a fool then
