No Finland is not my country but I am strategically cheering for them in this game. I'm sure if Czech played Russia that there are fans from other countries cheering for one side or the other.
That being said I retract my earlier comments as they appear dickish and it was not my intent. I apologize if I offended.
Interesting predictions, all of then within a score. I don't remember a year where I found all four wild card games to be so difficult to call. I'm really going back and forth with my predictions... all of them. This is wacked.

Wtf is with this terrible coaching!? Please MG fire this coach, all he does is yell. Team looks finished, cant compete with the better teams in the league. So mentally fragile. Sick of this.
Well, I have to say I don't mind the Flyers. So I'm not too upset if they get one point out of this. A lot of good players on the team. And they seem to have a lot of flyer fans when they come to Vancouver, and for some reason it does not bother me like it does with other teams. Strange.
4-3 Canucks. After a long break, and back to backs, think the guys will be little bit tired near the end of this, the Flyers will battle back and get a couple late ones making the game closer than it really should be.
I don't see why some of you feel the need to be such doinks about this. The OP was merely asking if anyone knows why this funny quirk in the schedule seems to happen every year. If you don't care about what this OP noticed you can simply stop opening this thread and making an ass of yourself.
As for why, as 70seven mentioned above, perhaps the league likes some of the same matchups around the same holidays every year. It is kind of a neat quirk, I do remember many times where the Canucks play Philly around this time of year. Unfortunately we always seem to lose.

Exactly, I'm so sick of that Carlton Banks poster, always negative and posting something against the boys, or in support of our enemies.
I admit I was harsh on Kassian earlier in the year but I must recognize I was wrong and his progress although slow at times, is coming along and I like where he is heading.
