  1. No sorry. Just noticed it on the comets twitter feed.
  2. Gaunce with his first career pro scrap!
  3. Nothing strengthens an argument more than adding over used clichés like "rose colored glasses" or "Kool aid drinking" Well done... p.s. Bo doesn't score a goal that game if it wasn't for Kassian
  4. A defensive liability...Hansen...??? You should have a look at Mathias's take away/give away ratio. So the choices for Horvat are for him to dominate juniors or to continue a playing against NHL caliber players. Then you say it will be best for him to start playing with pros and spend the year in the AHL - which is not possible. Please explain.
  5. Only in your mind. This is not a thing.
  6. Is he eligible for the AHL next year? I know he was one of the youngest players in the draft, which would suggest that he would be in the same position Horvat is in this year.
  7. Hostility? Ok...? It is a Virtanen thread in Canucks prospect forum. If he wants to make a "the grass is greener on the other side" thread, I say giver sh*t; however, he will probably be there all by him self. Hence, why he is dong it a thread that people frequent often. Which is annoying because every time he post something it is not related to the theme of the thread - which should be obvious by the title of it - I expect some sort of an update or discussion about the prospect that we did pick rather than nonsense about Bo Horvat as being a one dimensional player; calling Cassel's and McCaan over-agers; or suggesting Geztlaf and Perry would be useless in the league without each other.
  8. Thanks that was Awesome! Very impressed with his mobility for having such a large body.
  9. And another shutout on the season!
  10. I would like to see this test that people are using to measure a persons hockey intelligent quotient.
  11. Perfect conclusion to this pointless conversation!
  12. Neither Cassels nor McCaan are considered overagers. Cassels has just begun his +2 draft year and is one month older than Bo Horvat who is not old enough to play In the AHL. He is one full hockey season removed from his draft year. And Jared McCaan was drafted 4 months ago...
  13. lol...somebody is bored and looking for an argument I guess
  14. Krecji was a +37 in his first full NHL season Like you said Teows is Teows Kopitar developed the way he did because he is Kopitar. Everybody develops according to their own circumstances. I am not saying he won't be a good player but I do not see him developing on par with any of the above centers. Not even close.
  15. No they are not purely offensive players...that was exactly my point. They are all the first line centers of the last 5 cup winning teams, they are all 200' foot centers, and that is not even close to what Nylander projects to be. I'm not saying he won't be a good or even great player; however, as you confirmed in this response, he is not the type of center that cup winning teams are built around these days.
  16. Depth at center? Horvat Mccaan Cassels Guance These guys are much more like the type of centers that any of the cup winners in the last 5-6 years have throughout their line up. Every single one of these teams have 200' centers throughout their line up from top to bottom. Who is the last offensive minded first line center to win a cup? Maybe Crosby, but guess what? He is Sidney Crosby. The trend does not support your opinion. When you have the depth that we have, in our prospect pool, at center it make sense to begin drafting other positions. Even Crosby has been completely neutralized in the playoffs by these type of centers that been winning cups lately. How do you think Nylander will manage?
  17. Right. So you have a better understanding of how to build a team than the seasoned professionals who are invested in making these picks. I am pretty sure that Benning has a bit more experience and a much greater vantage point, than you sitting behind your computer screen all the way in the land Downunda.
  18. There goes the streak Comets down 0-1 An excellent run by a guy who appears to have a very bright future
  19. That's a pretty cool story man.
  20. Not sure how those stats suggest he was supposed to be something special. Just because Markstrom and Boucher are on similar streaks doesn't mean their outcomes will be the same. The only reason I compared the two was to show that there is no relevance between the them since 'Higor hill' said that AHL stats don't matter. Which is nonsense because how else do people get noticed In the minors if they don't play well? It doesn't mean it will translate to the NHL but it still very impressive. But whatever he is playing awesome and that's all that matters
  21. Nevertheless, it is very encouraging considering how highly he has been regarded in the past. He is playing very well and that is all we can expect from him, he would not be near that streak if he wasn't. It's a good sign. It's a just good start, like you said, but it is exciting to see him play to his potential and be at he very top of his league, regardless of how early it is.
