his stride looks al ittle choppy like garrison's but he is blowing by most of the players in those highlights, his speed does not look like an issue, his stride just looks awkward
the rumour involved kocklachev, I am glad we didn't trade edler for like kocklachev and 2nd or some loose bits that are not gonna help us, package edler with our 1st and get a real asset.
can someone please tell me why Tuch and Perlini are rated top 10 according to ISS?
nobody on these boards seems to give them any love.
ISS rankings
5.Nylander
6.Draisaitl
7.Perlini
8.Tuch
9.Ritchie
10.Virtanen
11.Ehlers
they also have kapanen at 6 feet?
WTF?????
here is a thought, go get a smart guy brought up in a good organization, because then they know what a good organization is like. If you want a guy from a mediocre organization then go get hextall and you will probably get mediocrity.
I want us to tanK TANK tank for a couple years, play our young players and mix them in with our vets, stock pile picks and draft high for a couple years then resign guys like Bieksa, hammer and bring in the youth
Mccann sounds enticing - has a trevor linden feel about him
we need a 1C for the future - he does not have they hype of nylander, reinhart, and such - but could he be a 1C?
i watched the highlights, his skating looks better than all the other players in the highlights, he blows by quite a few people.
His stride is a little choppy, but his hands and shot look big league - also his vision - looks elite
I think it is pretty simple
Kesler and Markstrom to ANA for gibson 10th, anaheim's 1st
draft Ritchie at 6
draft Nylander at 10 - future 1C, he is not that small - 5'11, 175lbs
draft with ANA's 1st - one of Lemieux, Hunter, Mckeown
draft with our 2nd Jack Glover
then our forward group is complete
Shinkarirk Nylander Kassian
Ritchie Horvat Jensen
Guance Cassels Fox
I like what I heard from Linden
- we are thin on D prospects, but if we got another pick and drafted 2 good forwards, we really would complete our forward group and then we could turn our attention to D
-a lot of the elete D men in the league were not top 10 picks, where as proportionately, a lot of the top forwards are top 10 picks
I am a homer, but I think it is time we start taking a few more BC players, how many times have we talked about Lucic?
It is not like Virtanen is unskilled compared to ehlers, both are projected top 6 players. the Q always churns out junior players with massive point totals compared to the W and the OHL.
excellent point, but we do not have a team of giants yet
Big boys
Kassian
Jensen
Gaunce
- of those, only kassian is physical
Decent sized boys
-Horvat
-Fox
-Cassels
- all are gritty
Small Boys
-Shinkarirk
If we got the 10th pick in the anaheim trade, I would be all for drafting one big guy and one skill guy
ex: Virtanen and ehlers or Ritchie and Nylander etc..
I find McCann very intriguing, everyone on this board says he carried his team this year - to me that gives him a trevor linden type feel
really hope we are not planning on taking Ehlers with the 6th overall - thats not a "boston Bruins" type pick
Bruins type picks in our range
-Bennet
-Virtanen
-Ritchie
-Perlinie
-Fleury
-McCann
If they keep talking about Boston Bruins type hockey and then go and pick ehlers, it will be pretty bizarre, especially as Virtanen fits the bruins mold perfectly, is the youngest of the group, is from abbotsford and says his favorite player growing up was Trevor Lindedn
The ISS is all over the place
Nylander 5th
Tuch 8th - seems too high
Virtanen 10th - seems too low for about the youngest guy in the draft with 45 goals in the WHL
McCann 15th - seems too low
Hunter Smith - seems too high
Lemieux, glover, demko - all not in the top 30
it was bad, but again, we missed out on the good players
-regher,mike fischer, cheechoo, gomez (was good early in his career), rebeiro, alex tanguay, simone gagne (before the injuries), gionta
