needs: 1.a young top D man ekblad or fleury 2.a top line C - who could that be any of Reinahrt, MDC, Bennet, Draisatl, but more likely Nyalnder, Mccann will be around when we pick 3.More top end skill on the wings -Kapanen, ehlers, nylander 4.I would like a least one more player with size and physicality in our top 6 -Ritchie, Virtanen, Mccann It will be tough to choose
-
looking back, in the years where we stunk in the late 90s, early 2000s - we drafted some real duds with very high picks -bryan allen and josh holden come to mind bryan allen 4 - ouch brad ference - 10 josh holden -12 and looking through the 80s and early 90s is actually worse -Jim sandlak - 4th Nedved - 2nd Dan woodley JJ deigneault Libor polasek I have to stop now
-
or draft Mccan and Ehlers - thats a nice mix of a two way trevor linden type gritty center, and a high end skilled player Shinker Mccan Kassian Ehlers Horvat Jensen Gaunce Cassels Fox and you could consider trading etem for something Nice!
-
or kesler, 2nd for etem Ott 1st, Ana 1st nylander, virtanen, etem, ana 1st then, etem, jensen, hansen and ana 1st to Buffalo for their pick -1st overall - ekblad leaving the draft with ekblad, nylander, virtanen - amazing
-
Nylander?
-
I would be happy with any of ehlers, nylander, fleury, ritchie, virtannen I hope we trade keeler
-
kesler, 2nd for Emerson, OTT 1st, ANA 1st draft Ritchie, Fleury, Demko Future Shinker Etem Kassian Ritchie Horvat Jensen Gaune Cassels Fox thats not bad - that line up has everything - skill, toughness, two hundred foot players

Please lord let someone come in an end out cup drought this guy looks good, tics all the boxes, played, scouted, managed, won cup recently, from western canada, played for canucks, gets a long with Linden -
fleury
-
so your plan to get 3 top 10 picks is???
-
i like this idea if corrado makes our team, then we have 3 RD and 4LD and we are not moving edler unless he wants out according to MGs statement re not moving guys with NTCs I have thought about packaging stanton to move up in the draft, glad someone else brought this up
-
lol and give up a potential franchise D man? Button just likes to get off on offring up unorthodox ideas the guy ranked virtanen in the second round on his latest mock
-
If we do not trade keeler, I see us taking a skill player with wherever we pick I'd like Nylander, Thomas gradin should have some good intel on him
-
firing coaches all th etime is destabilizing,UFAs dont want to be on a team going through all this turmoil. fire or keep torts i dont care but if they bring in a new coach, this coach is gonna have to be here for years. I say keep gillis as president, bring Jason Botterril in as GM, guy has been groomed in PIT and some team needs to snatch him up.
-
lol that is not happening
-
it is tough to tell on these boards I think he is a safe pick prob would top out as a 2nd line forward who can play 1st PK and shutdown the other team
-
I always like a good jack and coke during a canucks game, cheers to you sir. I would be excited if we traded Kesler for a young centerman and a late first so that we could take Lemieux I'd take Fleury with if they get a young forward in a trade
-
dont look now, but with a little help, NSH and WIN could pass us!!!! That would bring us in to the 6-7 pick position!!!
-
yeah I agree - never understood why players yap so much at the ref unless he blatently missed something on a game defining play and you let him know he should discuss with the other ref/linesman or go up stairs
-
not too interested in USHL either, fewer number of games, big gap between level of ability I would like to draft fleury, looking down the pipe line, we do not have many D prospects that project to be NHLers - corrado and maybe Hutton and neither are likely to be top 2 d man - I would do: Kesler, 2nd, Labate Sami Vatanen, etem, OTT's 1st draft Fleury, and I have been convinced that Mccann is a better pick that nylander and ehlers but who knows that gives us a future prospect pool of Corrado, Fluery, Vatanen, Tanev, Stanton Fox, gaunce, kassian, jensen, horvat, shinkarurk, Mccann, etem thats 8 forward players that should project to all be top 9 with many of those guys projecting to be top 6 - that group of forwards has a lot of diverse skill sets - Jensen, shinker, fox are the snipers, gaunce, horvat, Mccann, are the 200 foot players who can do it all
-
Thanks for the info, I did not know much about Jared Mccann but thanks for clearing all that up, still some of you guys say he very well could be a 3C but then you gush all over him, I wouldn't gush over a potential 3C, but hey thats just me.
-
Ok enlighten me... I can only read about junior hockey, no time to watch it he is not that big 6'0, he is about a point a game in the OHL when ehlers is almost 2ppg and yes I know it is QMJHL but still, ehler's numbers are comparable to Drouin's the year he got draft - still over a hundred points, although drouin did it in like 12 fewer games. what is so great about him? let me guess - a strong two way player,a 200 foot games just like guys we already have - cassels, horvat, gaunce
-
Mcann? looks like a future 3rd liner lol I would prefer we go with a more dynamic player in this draft - we already have Kassian, Jensen,Gaunce all over 6'2
-
hockeysfuture is truly all over the map, for years they said Vancouver's goaltending was weak when we had scheneider, lack and a hobey baker finalist in Cannata...riddle me that
-
if that was the offer, I am not sure how Gillis does not take that - considering we all know what PITs was offering
