[Lebrun Speculation] Canucks Ready for Re-tool
L. Stanley replied to Blueberries's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
kesler for mantha, nyquist, 1st - kes would eat up eastern conf teams for breakfast, plus play a nice shut down game and he is in his prime or Kesler for B schenn, Laughton or kesler - would not keep Kes in the west, I do not think Minny has the pieces we want aside from brodin, I dont like dumba or any of their other prospects edler, Hansen, Jensen - ROR, 3rd Burrows, corrado for Girardi, 2nd -

I think the trade I purposed is more than fair for CBJ, we give them a 1st and Jensen and Johansen is so young that we do not know what direction he will go - this is just one good season for him -

I like all the posts about this trade- I am not sure what the value would be, bu CBJ has sucked for a long time and they are giving up their top 2 prospects - both of which are having comparable seasons to the ones our guys are having. That being said, this is a down year for elder who has been an all star, an olympian, has loads of playoff experience. Kesler is a better two way forward than Johanssen, and lets not over look a very important factor: the difference in competition between the east and the west - last year Johanssen had a junk year in the west and I doubt he would have all those points if he played day in day out against LA, SJS, STL, ANA, CHI... Kesler and edler are signed to very very reasonable contracts thanks to MG so I think this trade makes sense for both sides, CBJ gets better now and with fubinsky, horton and gaborik, kesler and atkinson they start to have the semblance of a top 6 that has grit and skill and 2 way play open to all your suggestions -

alternatively if we want to 're-tool' I do think an edler + - for ROR could be a game changer and then a second side deal dor a dman Edler Hansen jensen for ROR + 3rd - not sure why colorado would say no to this, they get a solid prospect with size, a top 3 D man who will mesh nicely with all their young players, and they unload a big cap hit. Plus Hansen gives them good depth Corrado + schroeder+Grenier for Girardi (resigned) this is a retool - on average we do not get younger, but we change the dynamic of our team keser ROR kassian Sedin sedin Burrows Higgins Horvat Santo Sestito Richardsson Lain Hammer Girardi Garrison Bieksa Stanton Tanev Luongo Lack now that team is competitive in the present and in the future -

Kesler is our best asset, he is 29 though and likely will be a top 6 guy for only 3 more years. After that he will be a valuable 3rd line C who should still be decent enough to shut down most team's top line I would actually move him because he could get us quite a bit back. IMO we need to acquire 4 things, we could accomplish these with minimum 3 players 1. A future 1C - ex Johanssen - but he is having such a break out season I doubt Columbus moves him 2. A true #1 defensman - this franchise has never had that 3.A true top line sniper 4. Top 6 Grit Edler Kesler 2014 1st Jensen for Johansen Murray 2nd -

are you trying to sat that is close? a 60 point difference in less than 20 games? plus daigle played before the dead puck era -
I agree with the above Kesler - keep him or move him, I'm not fussed, just if you move him, get a great return Luongo Edler Burrows Hansen we should be able to get 1 good Right shot defenceman to take heat off Bieksa - guy is playing too much 1 good young C that is really all I want, I think that is do-able Luongo, Edler for Barkov Burrows, Hansen, for Girardi
-
I know I am on a roll, proposing the same trades in every thread in the hopes the Gillis sees them and does what I am asking for. I do not like Kesler, he just seems too arrogant now, I think his value is high and that we should move him what do you think of: Kesler, schroeder for Bjugstad and 1st 2014
-
Kesler, schroeder , 2nd for Mantha, Nyquist, 2014 1st Edler, Hansen, Jensen for ROR, 3rd sign Girardi as UFA or engineer a trade for him, Mallet, Tommernes, one of our 2 2014 1sts Sedin Sedin Burrows Higgins ROR Kassian Santo Horvat Nyquist Sestito Richardsson Lain Hammer Girardi Garrison Bieksa Stanton Tanev Andersson Corrado future - mantha, shinky, gaunce, cassels, fox
-
edler needs to go, the guy is playing well be low his worth. We have too many L D anyway and if Girardi makes it to free agency I say we offer him in the neighbourhood of 5.75 to come and play on our top pairing. This will take some of the pressure off juice i would also look into moving burrows for some youth

are you trying to say that our days of being a good team are somewhere over the rainbow

- based on what pal? am I wrong? tell me I am wrong, would love for you to say that Kesler and Daniel really turned in a great effort tonight. Tell me they gave a great effort when they could have leap frogged LA and jumped into 6th. -

awful awful hockey. The forwards should be disgusted with themselves. where was that energy they showed in the last 4 minutes. They decide to play for the last 4 minutes. WTF. So many offsides. edler - useless, honestly, strip it down. edler-gone burrows - gone Hansen - gone Kesler - gone cannot stand booth - send the guy home so we can gaurantee a buyout -
