ROR for Edler, Hansen, Jensen and if we absolutely have to I would add in our first this year and ask for a second and third back. sorry for repeatedly posting this but I think this move is a move that helps our team immensely. I truly believe that ROR along with guys like Lack, Tanev, Horvat, Gaunce and Shinkarurk will form an excellent core for our future. That, and I am home sick from work, hate missing work and going a little bananas

Just voted for him Looks like he is 3rd in votes, with a ton of room between himself and #4 so he should make the top 10 no problem.

this we need to acquire a young top 2C (wink ROR) without moving any of our top prospects Gillis, you are telling me that: Edler + Hansen+ 1-2 of (Jensen, Sauve, Tommernes, Mallet, Lain, labate etc) cannot get you a young top 6 forward? ex Edler + Hansen + Jensen + Sauve for: Brayden Schenn - now I think Philly would do this ROR - it is possible, especially with the expensive salary as an RFA if ROR gets moved, it better be to the canucks
-
good argument, but snow would never do that because Tavares was the absolute face of the franchise and goals sell tickets. You make a great point about Gillis' failure to use foresight and say "Hey, I am trying to move coho and I am holding onto schneider to see how Lou dose in the upcoming playoffs...why don't I just wait a second and see if I can package coho + the goalie we decide not to go with after the playoffs are over" nope, we expect too much out of Gillis and the bunch of group thinkers he has hired

Our Future: Bo Hunter Kass Shinkarirk Gaunce Cassels Fox Grenier Jensen schroeder - I personally feel he is a bust, I'd love to be surprised though -all of these guys have a shot at being top 6 forwards some day, some have more of a chance than others Lain Labate Mallet and some of the guys above would round out the bottom 6 -basically, I am drooling all over ROR and want us to trade Edler + - any 2 of Hansen Jensen Sauve Tommernes Mallet Labate Lain 2nd or a 1st + edler if they send us back a second and a third Kesler ROR kassian -now that would be a "heavy line"

I think you are underrating Bo Horvat. At this time, players ahead of him in points, with one being a player the london knights just aquired through trade so his goal total is carried over from the last team) Also, look at the number of games played. Bo missed games due to canucks training camp and WJCH. Currently he has played 12-13 less games than the other guys. One of the guys ahead of him, Chris Tierney, was also drafted in 2012- don't you think Bo would destroy the league if he played every game in the OHL next year???? Chris Tierney is the only one on the team with a higher PPG. Yes we all hoped for another asset in the schneider trade, and yes, getting a high draft pick does not help us now, but Gillis did not want to trade with edmonton or calgary and I think that is where the problem is. Rumours are rumours, but word was both those teams were offering Gillis more.

3 things I have noticed this season. 1.This is some of the most boring hockey I have seen from the canucks in over a decade- at least in 2006-2007 when they were winning games 2-1, 1-0, the sedins were on the rise and Luongo was unbelievable. Now Edler, sedins, kesler, burrows look like broken down pieces of meat that have had every last drop of useful hockey just about squeezed out of them. 2.When it is exciting, is exciting because it is sloppy - ex tonight, ex, pittsburgh game (if it were not for eddie lack, it would have been 8-4 for pittsburgh) 3.We do not dominate any teams anymore, not even Edmonton, or Calgary. time for a retool/rebuild I would be open to trading anyone, except for hamhuis and our prospects.

horvat is likely to be a top end 2C or below average 1C I would keep him. I truly think that with 2 moves, the canucks can bridge the gap between their vets and their youth, and be a contender again. Move #1 a deal involving Edler for ROR without us giving up any of (Bo, hunter, gaunce, casses, fox, corrado, tanev, +-andersson, hutton, McNally, LaBate) ex: Edler, Jensen, Schroeder for ROR, 3rd Move #2 Sign Girardi in the offseason (I say above market value is 5.75) Next year (with Booth buyout and Hansen traded for picks) Kesler ROR Kassian Sedin Sedin Burrows Higgins Horvat Santorelli Sestito Richardsson Dalpe Hammer Girardi Garrison Bieksa Stanton Tanev Luongo Lack Now this is a team that can compete with ANA, CHI, ST, LA just 2 moves, hope gillis is smart enough to realize this
-
agree, not exciting anymore, time to strip this team down
-
I think it is time we strip some of this team down - Higgins, Hansen, Edler, burrows - I would all of these guys, we need some players who are young and hungry edler, schroeder for ROR Hansen, burrows, Corrado, 2014 1st, Jensen for PK subban
-
you obviously do not get it. Thank goodness canucks management does. Kesler needs to go to the wing, he is not a passing player, he is 100% shoot first. Yes he is ok on faceoffs, but his defensive game is not as good as it has been in the past, so bump him up to the top line and that gives us an above average top line bring burrows to 2nd line and get ROR who passes more than kesler, you could even do sedins and burrows and then kesler on the wing for ROR, the thing is Kes just doesnt utilize his wingers very well. In kesler's mind, any day he is going to return to the player he was in those 6 games against nashville.

Hanzal checks sedin in the ribs and sedin gets a pinner penalty for hooking, hhahahahah, classic NHL

who else is looking to move a 27 yr old top 3 d man who is signed to a bargain of a contract at 5 mill? I do not think many teams are - I think Edler is the best d man that is currently available through trade, canucks do not want picks and prospects for him, they want ROR I think geting ROR would be huge for our franchise, I think Edler for ROR is fair considering it is harder to find a top 3 d man than a top 6 forward, but also ROR is going to have to be signed to a hefty contract. I personally like ROR for the canucks so much that I would kick in a sweetener like a 1st, but I think MG should be able to go without that, if they need sweetner and this deal does not happen without something else, I would start with Yann Sauve, schroeder, etc

we need to move edler to get a top 3 forward, sedins are crumbling under the load right now, they need some help ROR is tough, versatile, young and has enough offence to be a legit top 6 player, his numbers are not blistering but they are good for 22 (he will be 23 in February) if the canucks feel he is the one for them then I would overpay a little to get him Edler + Hansen+ schroeder for ROR Hansen is a good utility guy but he I am done with both him and Edler, they aren't gamers, useless in the playoffs and bring very little. I would then take a serious run at signing Girardi in the offseason - that gives a big right shot defensive defenseman edler and Hansen and schroeder for ROR 5+2.5+.6 = 8.1 for 6.5 savings of 1.6 buyout booth - 4.25 savings of 5.85 - spend like 5.25 - 5.5 on Girardi that leaves us at the cap now 7 mill - 2 for sedins raise, -1 for tanev raise (2.8-3 mill) we will have around 3 mill of cap space which will get taken up by guys like horvat and maybe resigning santorelli -

What's going on with David Booth?

Just send booth home for the love of god -
If I am the canucks, I do not give up edler or Tanev in a trade for Kane. Good d men that can play >20 minutes a night and contribute at both ends are harder to come by then forwards who can score - every off season there are a handful of forwards who can give you 20+ goals but almost no top 4 d men. Not saying I want him for nothing, but I would rather part with futures for any player than trade d men who will be difficult to replace. 2014 st, 2015 1st, Jensen, schroeder, Booth (+ Hansen if you want) for Kane
