sedins kesler burrows higgins Hansen Sestito Richardsson = 8 forwards Edler bieksa hamhuis Garrison Stanton Corrado Luongo Lack 14.3 mill in cap space Tanev -2 mill Santorelli - 2mill Horvat - .850 kassian 1mill = 7 D men = 11 forwards = 8.5 mill - trade Hansen for a real rough gritty 4th liner who for sure belongs in the NHL, and a pick 2nd or third = 11 mill - .75 for the 4th liner = 10.25 -callahan 5.25 mill 5 mill left over for another forward hmmmm....would like to sign vanek at around 6.75 mill perhaps we move edler to detroit for brendan smith and mantua??? -
edler - top 2 dman stanton - top 6 d man burrows, higgins - top 2 forwards Kassian - bottom 6/tweener forward Luongo - #1 goaltender ( I know eddie played great) but take 5 significant regulars out of a lineup and put them in back to back games against two of the top teams in the league - bad things are going to happen. we don't need a trade, or to blow up the team, we need to get healthy

don't mean to rip him, but he was not all that noticeable offensively for a guy who has 44 points in 28 OHL games, I was expecting more speed, more points, more domination in the offensive end. I really think he is nursing some nagging injury or is feeling post concussive effects from the hit to the head against Germany

was expecting far fart more from Bo, i think he is nursing an injury

made some real nice plays last night still needs to focus about where he should be on the ice, he seems to drift and then have to rush to catch up to be in the right play - his hockey IQ is ok, it just looks like he loses focus. Past couple of games he has set booth up for tap ins but booth cannot get it up for the life of him, Kass needs to play with more skilled players, I am not sure what the harm is of putting him in front of the net on the PP 1st unit with the sedans, kesler and garrison. -
Not impressed with dumba at all, good skater, good puck handler, but lacks some brains. Has taken some untimely penalties in this tournament, has been a part of some fire drills in his own end. Fucale has had one ok game.

Horvat does not look like himself- often the first player to leave the ice on his shifts, looks timid, losing puck battles, looks a step behind the play - very surprised there is not much talk about this - what is happening with this kid? ?concussion ?flu ?other injury kid took a shot to the head against Germnay - post concussion sx? I have found his play pretty disturbing, and the hit as well -anyone know if there was apenalty or a suspension? I mean that is a hit to the head for sure. Talk about bad luck, this was supposed to be the year for canucks prospects at WJC - Gaunce was hopeful, shinkarurk and horvat were 'locks' and now we have f all.
-
I wondered the same thing. The flu has been going around the team and Horvat had no jump at all. Looked gased all game, slow on the backcheck but he was trying. Set up Reinhart a few times but only one went in, was not dominant in the FO circle, infact was the goat on the third goal - I thought he was sick for sure the way he just could not compete. The whole Canadian backend had a rough night, quite a few fire drills in their end.

I really like this post for a couple of reasons -Callahan would add a lot of grit to our top 6 and I agree that he has an offensive touch - look at his las two seasons- that touch is developing. - I remember hearing shanahan talk about how come the redwings in the 90's were so hard to play against, and he said, their top 3 lines all had a player who could hit you hard and score. We have kesler and kassian is developing, Callahamn would be a nice addtion. - finally -the comparison to Dustin Brown - leadership, grit, two way play and offence... good comparison, and Dustin is a plyer that 29 other teams would die to get - I recall reading that after the cup run, there were some rumours that the kings never really inteded to trade brown, what they were doing was to get him to amp his game up, they felt that as the captain, they wanted to see if he would respond, as they felt he had been underwhelming for a couple years.

Stepan Callahan McDanough in that order If Tanev keeps playing like this Edler at 5 mill expendable, but it does send a sour message to guys trying to sign here for a home town discount... although, Hansen, Schroeder or Jensen, 2014st should be enough to get Callahan who is a pending UFA, doubt he would have a problem resigning under torts

I was actually expecting a lot more out of him points wise, especially becuase he is not a two way player. He has fewer points than santorelli, higgins, garrison. I am getting the feeling thay Kassian is turning the corner. His goal aginst chicago was huge, nice shot, gave us life. His drive, hands and vision were certainly on display with the tanev game winner. I hope he keeps building on this, one gets the impression of the force he could be once/if it all comes together -
sounds good to me, i would prob take out that firt round pick and prsopect and put in a second +- a prospect like grenier that would be more fair. Ehat edmonton needs is some g-d veteran hockey players to get those kids playing defence.

Edler, Hansen, Shinkarirk, 2014 1st for Hall. If I were Edmonton, I would do this, this makes them better in the long run
-
Edler and Hansen, 2nd for Eberle
-
Jensen, 2014 first, 2015 first, Booth, Hansen for E. Kane 2015 2nd, 2014 3rd
