Would you buy a 15 year old 2 storey house with 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths? lol found out that the lot we own can't take a 3 storey house without a septic pump for the basement. Parents wont consider building a 2 storey as it has 'no resale value' but I disagree. Whats your opinion? thanks

@The Weaselwell right now there are some houses in the neighborhood that are across the street that are 15 yrs old all 3 storeys, but our side the land is flat and they are 2 storey homes. So we wanted to tear it down and build a new house to live in, but we can't go through with a 3 storey unless we get the pumping system (Which a family friend (someone involved in house selling/ building, says not to do)).
So if we build a 2 storey with no basement unites (no pump), i'd be happy living in that. But parents are worried it won't have much resale value as everyone wants 3 storey houses now and days. I'm asking about selling like 10 to 15 years down the road lol.
Lot size is 7200 square feet approx, and we could build a 2 storey- 3600 square foot house (with 2 masterbed rooms upstairs, 2 avg rooms, a master on the main, an office space, 2 family rooms (1 on main, 1 upstairs), living room, spice kitchen, kitchen, and a double garage).

In this current market a broken down shed has excellent resale value. Besides, 10 - 15 years from now, it will still be 10 - 15 years newer than the rest of the neighbourhood (unless everyone tears down theirs too).
I'm curious though... why does a taller house need a septic pump? I thought septic flowed downhill?
