  1. Whats your opinion on Russian prospects? Is it worth the risk to draft if they may leave....

Would you take the risk of drafting Andrei Svechnikov if he is the clear #2 prospect in next years draft and we so happen to have the # 2 spot?

I'm honestly content avoiding Russians altogether unless they're a MUST TAKE.

Particularly with the NHL's no Olympics stance, the NHL is becoming less and less desirable for Russians. I honestly think they're a huge risk and I'm surprised its not hurting their stock in the drafts more than it has.

I don't see it as being any riskier than drafting college players. As far as drafting Svechnikov, it all depends on how the interviews go. If he's excited about following in Bure's footsteps, likes the city, has a great attitude, etc. then yes of course you grab a talent like that.

If drafting a Russian, we should be certain he will be good enough to make our team right away.  Likely the guys who will take development will just head to the KHL rather than develop in the AHL.
