  1. Is anyone else excited for our future? I understand we need to solidify our bottom 6, depth scoring, and improve our D. By 2022 2023, the cap situation hopefully will improve with new TV deal and return in fans to stadiums Boeser will be entering RFA- I think he deserves a raise and I wouldn't mind a 7M x 7 year deal (assuming he stays healthy). Horvat and Miller will be in their last seasons, before they hit UFA. Personally I want both to stay. Miller gives us the chance to roll 3 lines if we can find good wingers. Pettersson and Hughes both need deals this year. Now they may take bridge deals and rightfully so they can get them. Ideally have those contrabts run atleast until 2024 as no one major would be due for resigning. They may do what Boeser did and take under 6M for 3 years to show themselves. Pettersson has been good but with his wrist injury he may bet on himself to come back stronger and get Eichel money afterwards. Now by then we rid ourselves of a lot of dumb contracts. In the year prior Roussels contract ends, Sutter would be off the books (maybe returns as a 4th line role for 1.5M). Edler if resigned would be getting under 4 million. Jay Beagle, Baertschi, and Ericksson would be off the books, as well as Spooner and Luongos $. Only major $ is in LTIR. Now im as patient as everyone but we may have a core group of young talent that hopefully we can add to in this draft and the next one. We could have a division where Edmonton, Vegas, Vancouver are in the top 3 to come. We could be a force to reckoned with young talent, and potentially a top end checking line with Horvat and Poldkozin Anyways, this is just to give us Canucks Fan hope!!!
  2. I'm excited for what is to come, just need to solidify our bottom 6 and D. Add some playoff grit and soul
  3. May get wrecked for this but lets give it a shot. CBJ may need to enter a re tool era and with that Seth Jones will be entering his prime. Rather it being wasted in CBJ he would make a good add for us especially with Edler retiring soon. We trade our 2022 first round pick (avoid trading or high pick this year) (Also top 10 protected!), becomes a 2023 1st if not next season and a conditional 3rd rounder + Jake Virtanen (assuming his career remains), plus Lind. We may have to add a pick or prospect on top.
  4. Would you rather have McDavid/ Draisaitl or Crosby/ Malkin in their prime

Malkin over Draisaitl 11 times out of 10. Crosby over McDavid to win a cup. McDavid over Crosby to sell tickets

      Nucker 67

umm, McDavid is the best player that ever was, so...what's better than the Great One? The Greater One?

Crosby & Malkin had a guy like Fluery in his prime in net and a legit #1 D in Letang.  I don’t see either one of those on the Coilers.  Not by a long shot.

WCE in their prime could do nothing with Dan Cloutier in net.

  5. Would CBJ be open to moving Jones? They have 3 1st rd picks and may re tool this off season

I bet the bloody Avs will acquire him. They have lots of young assets to dangle.

I can see the Aves making a run for Jones. Colorado is where Jones is from. And the Aves are going to lose a good defenseman in the expansion draft (either Ryan Graves, Devon Toews, or Jacob MacDonald), so they'll want to replenish that defensive depth.

Not sure the Canucks have the assets to pry Jones away from Columbus. But he'd be a good fit in Vancouver if the Canucks somehow got him.

@Quantum  If they do have three first round picks, then they obviously don’t need a package centered around picks as the main component.  Good in a way as the Canucks have no business dealing picks.  You’d think a drafting whiz would want to get more picks (imagine Benning with three 1st round picks!).

That leaves what?  We have nobody of worth we could afford to deal for a player of Jones caliber.

  6. If Kucherov returns its Tampa's to win. But I'd love to see the Panthers go deep. If they can't get fan support now, move them!!!
  7. Abbotsford Red Scorpions jokes aside to our brutal history as a city, what about something along the line of our city. Pilots but thats already a team in Abbotsford last time if i recall. Abbotsford Whalers Abbotsford Millionares Abbotsford (something - Johny Canuck as the logo) Abbotsford Sasq'ets - UFV's mascot Abbotsford (something to do with farmers)
  8. Hopefully the city can use revenue to finally add to the highway.... Also add a road from King Road to Sumas Way (connects to highway) to make traffic easier near the round about. Solves the camps set up under that bridge by walmart
  9. would you trade a bad seed for another bad seed. Virtanen for DeAngelo?

No.  At least Jake plays hockey well enough not to be a complete liability on the ice. DeAngelo is a pitiful excuse for a hockey player and an even worse human.

    3. Phil_314

      Phil_314

I'd trade Virtanen for an underperformer who at least has character.  Recoup someone like Cody Eakin as 3rd C instead of a racist.

      TNucks1

f#ck that, if the allegations are true he wont be in the league anymore anyways, we dont need deangalos super toxic personality on our team.

  10. Canucks need secondary scoring like I need a drink

  11. Goals for next draft: Find an elite scorer/ Caufield potential and draft more D!
  12. Petey- Miller- Boeser --- offensive line that can be one of the hardest to shut down, especially at home. Can easily net 80 goals per season and hopefully 100 goals Poldkozin - Horvat- Hoglander --- can be a solid shut down line that matches up against the other teams top line. Poldkozin if he can be physical and give it a 100% each day, he could be a 20 goal scorer, power forward , that plays wing with a future Selke candidate, and a shifty winger who tbh can net 25 goals in the future and make room for everyone else on the ice by being shifty. Pearson ____ ____ ____ ____ Motte Need a shutdown center that can match up against top lines too as it gives the other team hell during away games. Can play the penalty kill and potentially be a threat on the powerplay as the 2nd PP
  13. It can take almost 10 to 14 days since exposure to test positive for COVID. Thus why the transmission of COVID is high, people pass it along will being unsymptomatic.

My belief is that the Canucks got it from MTL players as they had players go down just a few days prior.

  14. May increase the cap just in time when Horvat, Boeser, Miller , Hoglander, Poldkozin are due for a raise. Sign hughes petey long term now so we their %cap decreases come time
  15. Its either Markstrom or Demko ... can only keep 1 long term and tbh Demko is ready Toffoli hurts because he scored so many against us, take his games against us out and he isnt as hyped Schmidt is getting back to his habits in Vegas. Upgrade!!! - Ericksson, Myers, Beagle, Sutter, Roussell ---- over payments, plain and simple but Ericksson was to be worth 6mill, Jim didnt fail us Ericksson did - Miller is a steal by Benning , as is Schmidt trade. - Without Benning, some argue Jude Brackett, we don't have the propspect/ young talent. - Benning came in with no prospects other then Horvat.
  16. Tanev is the only person I would have brought back. Toffoli hurts just because he has scored so many against us - Rather him over Virtanen. Leivo for cheap sure
  17. We are approx 1/3 into the NHL season and I thought it would be a fun idea to try to do an All Star Game Roster for each Division. So I propose to all fans what would your All Star Roster look like? My rules are simple: 2 plays per each team and players must be picked by their position listed on NHL.com stats page. This is harder for defenseman but lets go by what is listed on NHL stats as their shooting side. North Division consists: Maple Leafs, Canadians, Oilers, Jets, Flames, Canucks, & Senators My Roster: Tkachuk- McDavid - Boeser Gauderau -Tavares- Marner Monahan - Draisaitl - Nylander Ehlers-Scheifele- Toffoli Hughes- Petry Rielly- Barrie Chabot-Weber Hellebuyck Markstrom
  18. First of all we all know he got benched last night... Would Pettersson /Horvat want him on their team with the antics, fortnite. CBJ is currently paying him 5 million. Canucks Trade Pearson and Virtanen plus a 2021 1st round pick (protected), 2nd rd pick. Probably underpaying for the kid, but there is issues with his game atm
  19. I do hope Pearson stays on a cheap deal and ends up on our 3rd line. I could see Edler finishing his career here maybe on a 2 year extension. I doubt Tryamkin returns anymore but its a nice thought. Hopefully with Virtanen and 1st rd pick we can get a solid Defensive Defenceman that will be Hughes partner for years to come and can play PP minutes on the 2nd unit.
  20. Pettersson vs Hoglander ....

Who would win a unicycle and juggling race?

  21. The way things are going I'd rather protect Motte over Virtanen
  22. I'm gonna make an assumption that Hamonic may have been exposed to potentially someone on his flight when he came from Winnipeg (unless he drove). He may been in contact with Canucks staff / hotel staff that may also be in contact with the rest of the players. Thus a precaution to shut it down. Do a wide scale testing, get 2 negative results and boom we back in action tomorrow/ Monday
  23. Petty is well rounded and will be loved by media as he grows Allstar Has a death stare but yet can juggle and unicycle at the same time. Will do charity events but will also hit back
