    ---

I hope youre taking notes Bedard and Celebrini

By the time Miller contract nears end they will come to us ;)

      Quantum

Yeah but in the meantime watch Petey force his way out if he doesn't like the direction the team is going next offseason.

  2. 1) Canucks currently possess 2 of the top 10 centres in the NHL in PPG over the last 3 seasons Petey and Miller Petey's contract should be in mind with everything we do as he is our face for this franchise. We have him for 1 more year as he enter's his prime imo. Resign Petey this off season 8 years @ 85 Million - AVG cap hit of 10.625 M -- 2) Clean up our top 9 wingers Trade pieces include Boeser, Garland, Mikheyev, Beauvillier, Kuzmenko, Hoglander, Podkolzin We have 7 guys for only 4 winger jobs in our top 6. Podkolzin and Hoglander are cheaper options to play on our 3rd line and can step up as needed into top our top 6 lines. For this reason they are safe . Kuzmenko gave Petey his best season and for that reason he is safe. Mikheyev allows us to be a better defensive team- is a speed / pk specialist- for this reason he is safe. - It comes down to Boeser, Garland, Beauvillier - Boeser is the highest paid player of the 3 , Garland is some eyes not worth the 5m but he doesn't get the PP time he did in Arizona. Beauvillier is a UFA after this season- and the question becomes will anyone bite. Our one advantage is this years off season market has no big players. We shouldn't trade either player while compromising our future and for this reason. I believe Garland and Beauvillier are out. - Proposal 1: CBJ had one of the worst goals for last year- Garland can add 50 pts to a team playing 2nd line minutes behind Laine and Gaudreau. Canucks trade Garland and our 3rd pick to Columbus in exchange for Columbus 2023 2nd rd pick (top 40 pick) We shed near 5m in cap while moving up near 30 spots. --- Proposal 2A: Now for our 3C - Ideally I'd love ROR , but the term and cap hit would be unrealistic ROR at 5 m X 4 years OR Proposal 2B: Barbashev would be an asset to this team- he can PK and centre our 2nd unit on our PK and step up as needed. He had a down year on a blues team but he is only 27 yo. One downside is his face off percentage Offer Barbashev 3.5m x 4 years - TOP 9 consists of Mikheyev Petey Kuzmenko Beauvillier Miller Boeser Hoglander ROR/ Barbashev Podkolzin Hoglander being a RFA signs either a mid term deal of 2 m x 4 years banking on himself to stick in the NHL TOP 9 costs us near 40 to 42M --- Defense is a huge problem on its own Hughes - Hronek OEL- Myers Burroughs - Bear this top 6 costs us near 30M assuming Bear signs near 2-2.5m and Burroughs near 1M. The problem is we still suck and have 2 guys costing us near 13M for not that much value. I don't support the idea of an OEL buyout due to long term ramifications of this move. Hughes - Bear OEL - Hronek Rathbone- Burroughs at this point we have to move Myers and his 6M out and any team thats a bottom cap can take him . Canucks move Myers to hawk or arizona for the most popular person 'future considerations' - it gets them to the cap floor for 1M pocket cost. I'd love to add Schenn for 2 years x 1.5 M if he would consider but none the less moving Myers brings our top 6 down to 25M approx. He adds toughness that no one else shows other then Burroughs If by any miracle we can find someone to take OEL, Gostisbehere would be a nice target to be our 2nd pairing LD. - Canucks should target a veteran goalie as a backup but with our cap issues its going to be a rotation of Martin/ Silovs/ Delia at this point. Silovs is the future but we can't have him sitting 60 games in a year and not getting play time. TOP 9 = 42M 6dmen - 25M Goalies- 6M ---------- 73 M for 17 players. 4TH line can rotate with Nils Aman as the centre. Joshua, Dries, Studnicka, Di Guiseppe - combination of 5 = 4.5 M Add Woo or Wolanin as a 7th dman gets us another 1.5M We can roster a 23 team line up under 80m assuming we can move Myers and Garland. - If need be move Beauvillier at the deadline to target depth on D / free cap space if we are sellers ;( Losing Myers cap space will go towards Hronek and Petey's salary come 2024/2025- hopefully by then cap jumps another 4m
  3. we need to have a different game schedule 31 teams to match against- 7 in your division 7 division teams x 4 games = 28 games 24 non division team x 2 games = 48 games 76 game schedule - regulation wins are 3 pts, ot wins 2pts - ot loses 1pts No more shootout- go with a 3 v 3 OT with no time limit (eventually team scores in the first 10 minutes as no way a coach can play the same guys for a long duration without a slip up and open ice) get the playoffs started sooner- top 4 teams qualify and at the end of each division champion you have your final 4 where regular season record dictates who plays who this way you can have an atlantic/ metro final or a pacific/ central finals
  4. Miller, 2023 1st, Hoglander, Silovs or we wait until hes a RFA and Miller is off the books and take him as a UFA- tavares like play
  5. They need offense and Garland + Boeser both need a new look imo Boeser's value has gone up a bit imo post deadline
  6. Now its a matter of getting them to take on boeser or garland for some of those early picks
  7. The way I see it- you got 3 years to make a move before Bedard is signed for 13M (assuming he is a generational talent) Move Garland, Boeser, Myers, OEL (if possible). Get assets back and solidify our D. Ultimately Bedard takes over as 1C ( no offence to Petey ) Petey/ Miller can be 2c and if need be a 3c depending on our depth/ skill upfront. - Until our pk is resolved and our D improves it doesn't matter what Bedard does- we would be another Oilers Elite talent upfront w/ shitty overpaid D
  8. Imagine if we actually rebuit as soon as we got handicapped by Kesler. Imagine us trading the sedins (salary retained) to a team for assets - would have 14M in cap space to get crap players for picks. Imagine no ericksson- 6m we could have had for assets. Imagine us trade Markstrom for assets when we knew the seattle draft was up. Imagine us being patient w/ McCann and Grabner Imagine no beagle, rousell - 5m cap we could have utilized. Imagine trading edler and burrows when we knew we were done
  9. Is this the best trade deadline in forever. So many high level player moved

I agree! ...I keep telling myself to not expect more, but it keeps on rollin!!!

The NHL saw the insanity going on in the NBA and said we wanna get in on that action

  10. would you move boeser and asset for cal foote- ultimately preds need offence

Preds just sold offense in Neiderreieter, what they're up to is anyone's guess

They're on the cusp of a playoff spot but they're also six points behind Seattle, they've got a couple games before the deadline and that could very well influence whether they sell more or not.

    3. EternalCanuckFan

      EternalCanuckFan

With Johansen injured for the rest of the year, and rumors about them shopping Ekholm, my guess is they're rebuilding. If that's the case, then I can't see them trading for Boeser or Garland, but stranger things have happened.

    4. Phil_314

      Phil_314

@EternalCanuckFan lol Jeannot just happened yesterday, so I'm prepared for anything.

  11. There are active rumors Bruins are looking at Gavrikov but not wanting to pull the trigger due to cap concerns. Bruins are looking at moving Craig smith in order to get Gavrikov. Also rumors bruins may consider Schenn. Bruins recieve: Schenn Gavrikov Canucks 2023 NYR 4th rd pick Canucks receive: Boston 1st round pick (most likely 25 to 32 pick) Smith CBJ recieves: Boston 2023 3rd pick and Canucks 2023 4th rd pick - Is that enough compensation to the CBJ?
  12. Kings need goaltending moving forward , especially if they want to make a run. Ducks are still rebuilding and aren't a contender anytime soon. Gibson is stuck on the Ducks for 4 more years and is in his prime being wasted away in the Ducks system. LA receives: Gibson Anaheim Receives Cal Petersen at 3 more years. 2023 1st rd pick unprotected Conditional 3rd pick based on playoff success
  13. Imagine the hype in the city getting the lottery win. You can instantly look at trading Miller to get. RHD in the off season
  14. With the Sabres being a team not in cap hell and having a solid team just sitting outside of the playoffs. They have 20M plus next year in cap space w/ no significant players to sign. IMO they lack goaltending/ keeping the puck out of the net. -- Canucks trade Demko to Buffalo and Coyotes trade Chychrun. - Buffalo recieves: Demko/ Chychrun Coyotes recieve: Buffalo's 1st rd pick (conditional 2023 (top 10 protected), Krebs, 1 of the 3 Sabres 2023 2nd rd picks Canucks 2023 4th round pick, Myers , Rathbone Canucks recieve : Goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen LD: Mattias Samuelsson - We gain a rookie goaltender and LD who can play w/ Hughes and be his anchor when Schenn leaves . Ofc i'd love Owen Power back but thats too rich Coyotes get 3 possible picks in the top 50 this year, Krebs and they eat 1 year of Myers salary Do canucks get enough?
  15. Jealous of Buffalo, they turned around so nicely post Eichel saga
  16. We probably flip him at the deadline unless Garland n Boeser are gone
  17. Time for a quick retool and lets get this done this year. Please don't take this too seriously this is just a night time rambling for fun. NYR/ NYI/ PREDS/ WILD are playoff / wild card spot teams that need scoring. They rank below the Canucks in Goals For. ---- Canucks trade Miller and Schenn to NYI in exchange for RHD Pulock, we gain a veteran top pair for Hughes. Canucks Trade Boeser to Preds for Fabbro and Tanner Jeannot- gain some toughness and 2nd pairing dman in Fabbro Canucks trade Garland, Rathbone to NYR for Schneider (we may need to add a pick ?) -- This one may hurt, LA needs Goalie help if they want to win / go deep Canucks Trade Demko for Sean Durzi and Byfield Canucks lose Demko, but Silovs can possibly take his shot next year as an NHL goalie w/ Martin and Delia to back up. Or try to sign Blackwood, or Anderson as Carolina may go the Kochetkov route next year. -- Next year we move Myers after his bonus is paid tied in with a mid pick. Stillman is moved w/ a late pick Bears and Burroughs become our extras. Hughes -Pulock OEL - Schneider Durzi- Fabbro Burroughs- Bear --- Anyways this is for fun and for discussion, flame away
  18. If we win 1st OA, and someone offers you to take Miller and OEL in return and their top 5 pick do you do it.

@Ghostsof1915 if I was Anaheim or Chicago, id be doing that deal everyday, all day. The Canucks did that trade to move down from Bedard. Id be finished.

    3. Ghostsof1915

      Ghostsof1915

Anaheim and Chicago would be going. "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" They traded their 1st overall.

    4. Phil_314

      Phil_314

Lol or alternatively Bedard's so good that he elevates Miller's scoring to another level and keeps the puck in the offensive end of the ice such that OEL and Myers wouldn't be defensive liabilities.  A fan can dream.

  19. If we do somehow win the 1st OA - imagine this team with Petey and Bedard down the middle.

    --

Horvat, Schenn, Kuzmenko, Garland, Boeser probably traded in the off season.

    -

Myers could be traded after July 1 (post bonus). Miller may be moveable in the off season when teams have cap .

    --

We would have 20M+ in space to get 2 RHD, a 3C and bottom 6 wingers

kind of lke edmonton. unless they fix the defense we will always suck.

      Ghostsof1915

      Yeah but it's a start.

    4. Elias Pettersson

      Elias Pettersson

I agree with Joe.  I don't want this team to go all in on Bedard and have nothing left.  We need to fix the defence.

  20. Miller to Detroit for Vrana? we take a risk on a 4M player who needs new scenery while saving 4M next year and 8M in the years that follow

    Miller for

    Vrana and 2nd rd pick?

  21. Trade Myers for Zaitsev and a pick.

Trade Miller to the stars for Jamie Benn- they get some cap space and a better chance of winning now. We get some cap freedom in 3 years time.

Trade Garland, Boeser, Pearson, Schenn for picks/ cap space

    Trade asset for lafreniere/ kakko

    -

    1,2,3. lets go...

  22. We are missing a 3c, a #1 RHD, a second pairing that can PK and play PP but costs less then 10M combined. If miller stays currently is he a winger and we have too many of those
  23. Him to say he isnt signing with x team and pull a Lindros. or we somehow get hella lucky or we offer Hughes and our first rd pick, and more assets for a potential Bedard
