    After Columbus just gave up 2 x 1st rounders and 2 x 2nd rounders for rental players. giving up another 4 x 1st rounders for Marner will eventually ruin the franchise. Six years from now they will have no prospects whatsoever. But if they think it’s a good idea, fill your boots.

    You can easily replace a forward, star defenceman are hard to come by. Colorado May have filled a hole , but made a bigger hole in the process.

    This isn’t a big gamble for the price, easy buy out if it’s not working, big rewards if it does.

    Canes need 8 more roster players under contract. They have 22.7 million in cap . Which leaves 16.2 after Aho for 7 more players. If Justin Williams doesn’t retire ($4.5) they have 11.7 left for 6 . I doubt Reimer is their starting goalie, they are going to have to spend to the cap. Considering Montreal was in a dog fight for the wildcard , maybe they gained an advantage even if Carolina matches.

    Bobrovski must’ve agreed to a Panthers contract , only to be made official July 1st. Which means Panarin could’ve done the same.
